I’m just venting a little bit about the most disgusting hypocrisy that I see in the country today, and so this may be a little un-organized. I was watching an episode of Law and Order: SVU and I was really disgusted. The situation was that a young gay man was murdered, and people were picketing at the boy’s funeral.
There signs said things like "God Bless Aids" and "God Hates Fags". The preacher at the front was yelling about how all gays are to be put to death, about how they are an abomination, and all people who practice sodomy are doomed to hell. They were glad that a young man was murdered. Things like this really happen. It makes me physically sick to my stomach to see such things happening in this country, and that the people behind these spectacles are calling themselves christians! The very people that claim that there religion is one of love and forgiveness. I was always taught to love thy neighbor as thyself, but these people are filled with so much needless hatred. Why?
I cannot see any real reason for their severe disgust. Do they not realize that a straight person can get aids? But then they simply condemn the people for having sex with other people. A married man or woman can get aids if their significant other was not a virgin, did drugs, or any other way a person can contract it. Is it a woman’s fault that her husband gave her aids because he was unfaithful? "Aids is the cure for fags" was another slogan I saw in a documentary. Little children were holding these signs. How can the parent teach there children to hate like that? The children don't know what this means, and they grow up with the message of hatred engraved in there brains.
If all lives are sacred, doesn't that mean that the lives of sinners, too? Their rationalization for there hate (that god hates them) is unreasonable. The judgment they pass down on homosexuals is reserved for God and God only. When these people actually take action against homosexuals, they are playing God, and this is wrong. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. How can they possibly justify the hatred in there hearts by using the bible? I would like to know what they really believe; not just taking there views from a book. Do they really believe that they are doing "Gods Work"?
Whats worse is that even when there is a homosexual going to church, they still condemn them. They are just trying to worship the Lord just like any other person. So, if you are homosexual, even if you believe, you are still condemned by these people.. How fare is that?
Again I apologize for it not being all that organized, but these are my views and opinions.
the most disgusting hypocracy, in my opinion

Um, You just misspelt disgusting in the title of your blog and I almost ignored it because of that, luckily I am bored and do not feel up to studying otherwise I would have missed a totally valid blog. Also you said "There rationalization for there hate (that god hates them) is unreasonable. " am I correct in assuming the the 'there' is suppose to say 'their'?

I am not sure which is worse, the things you spoke of, or the fact that thats the sort of things people like to watch for entertainment.

I ran it through spell check, but i appologise. I am a really terrible speller.
Haha Thats alright, I ran my comment through word and still had to fix it twice after I posted it. Thank goodness for proof reading.
Do you watch SVU often? I love and resent that show so much sometimes and I feel like a total dirt bag when I get sucked into it.
Do you remember the name of the documentary or the channel it was one, the one that had the kid with the mean sign? I was just curious.

Thank you for yor coment! I do watch SVU often, i don't know why. I guss it is because the facts that they present on the psycology of the criminals is prety acurate (at least acording to the majority of my reading). The documentary was "small town gay bar", on Logo. I've seen other footage simmilar to it on 30 days.
I've seen that one. It's so sad. It makes me feel very fortunate to be where I am. My partner grew up in the area where that documentary is set.
It is also available for download on Netflix.

that I watched it up until that preacher started talking. I got so sick that anyone could actually think like that, and people belive him! It made me sad as well to realize that I am helpless to change these peoples minds and show them otherwise.
Adding a spell checker to your browser might be helpful. It'll underline misspelled words in red, and will then give you options to change them. It can catch most typos, so it might help you tremendously if you're not a good speller anyway. Of course, it's not perfect... sometimes it suggests things that make no sense in the context of my sentence, but it's better than nothing :)

I've discovered recently that I can't find a spell checker for my Opera browser. Odd, I thought those were standard features. Granted, I'd never heard of this browser before last week so I don't know all its little secrets.

Opera, huh? I've never heard of it. But do they not have an add-in page? (Firefox, which I use, has dozens of add-ins listed together on one page, and the spell checker was one of them; it didn't come with it when I downloaded the browser). Doing a search for it might be worthwhile for you :)

It would be bad enough if this was simply entertainment at its extreme. It sickens me even more that things like this happen in real life.
Great post!
I read and understand your blog and I understand your frustrations, I really do. As a matter of fact I share your views when it comes to getting upset when people dis on the homosexual community... but you can't take what certain "Christians" do and generalize to all Christians. The main "Christian" group (I use the term Christian lightly on them...) that I know of that bashes the homosexual community is Westboro Baptist church. Which they are a very cult like church.... and not only bash Gays, but our armed forces, and many other things. But if you really look into them you will find they are a small community that refuses to let other people in... and are a very hateful small group of people. They make me so angry!
But you have to look at people like me. I am a Christian and I do NOT dis Gay people EVER. In fact one of my closest friends is Gay. I went to a church for a long time where the paster was happy that Gay people wanted to go to his church.
SO, All I am asking is please don't let a bunch of Bad Apples give ALL Christians a bad name.
I wasn't trying to generalize when I said they are christian, what I ment was that the people who do this sort of thing call themselves christian. I do not mean to offend anyones religion, and these people do things in the name of the christian god. I consider myself a christian, though i don't practice it, and believe in god.
One of the very things you said is this... "So, if you are homosexual, even if you believe, you are still condemned by the christian community." That statement alone generalized all Christians.
Also, just because someone calls themselves a Christian doesn't make them a Christian. It's all about lifestyle. The bible says "By your fruit you shall be known." If they are not demonstrating the Love of God... than they can not truly call themselves Christians.
Then I shall make the appropriate changes. I wrote this when I was a little distraught and disturbed. I say again, it is not my wish to generalize about any group of people.
Faith is like a glass of water. When you're young, the glass is small, and it's easy to fill up. But the older you get, the bigger the glass gets, and the same amount of liquid doesn't fill it anymore. Periodically, the glass has to be refilled.

This is awful. This sickens me and annoys me at the same time. This same thing happened in this true life movie called A girl like me : Gwen Araujo story. It came on lifetime and the teens actually killed Gwen. At the funeral they protested outside the church. It was a very sad movie, but it sounds similar to what you are talking about.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I am voting for Lewis Black.

GOD IS A MYTH as OLD as MAN
Recently in Canada a young man was vicously attacked and beheaded while sleeping aboard a greyhound bus. A group of these so called christians was stopped at the border and refused entry to Canada, why? Because they were going to picket that poor young mans funeral and their message? "This is the payment from god for legalizing gay marriage"
Somebody needs to open up a big ol can of whupass on these idiots!
