A lot of people talk about having sex before marriage which I think is very nieve. Almost all of my friends my self included have had sex in high school. Most of us before we were even seniors. So I am wondering if this is not a normal thing? Where I live just has a different culture than most of the US and it is just accepted more.
Really the point of this blog was to ask people whether or not htey had sex in high school and what their views on it are. I have seen many blogs on sex before marriage and I always end up thinking, "Am I just in my own world thinking that it is fine to have sex in high school?" Maybe it is different for different parts of the US but in SoCal as far as I have heard it is not that uncommon for kids to have sex in high school.

We had a girl in every grade who was pregnant. Sex in high school is pretty normal today. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is all up to perception, I suppose. It all depends on your views as far as sex goes.
Some people just seem to be very nieve.
It's been said that about 1 in 2 high schoolers will have had sex when they graduate. In my dorm last year, we had 4 girls, myself included. Two of my roommates had had sex, and were actively having sex during our first year. The other two of us hadn't had sex. While I was in high school, I thought that all my friends were virgins, like me. That was incredibly naive of me, and I found out that at least two of them were not (this is out of say... 5 people).
That being said, I think if things had been different in my life, I would have been among those to have sex in high school. It depends on where you are, to some extent, though. I'd wager that in my boyfriend's graduating class, maybe only a handful had sex while in high school.

In my school, a lot of people don't tell me what goes on because my mom is a teacher, so I don't hear a lot, but I know that people are having sex out there. Out of my good friends (group of about 15), i know at least 7 of them have had sex. I know that people are having sex and I know that it's probably not the safest and most healthy thing to do, but it's pretty much a norm, which is sort of sad. But that's how our culture has adapted to and i guess i need to accept it.
