So, I've been thinking about a tattoo. I am skeptical about getting one, but I've decided I have to get one that actually has some sort of meaning . It has to be a reminder that will stay true throughout my life. I'm think about a Chi-rho on the front of my shoulder, near the collar bone. It's a combination of the first two letters of the word "Christ" in Greek, and that means something to me.There is also a design called "Long live the Slaughterd Lamb". It's on the book "Jesus for President" cover. So if you have any suggestions along that line, please feel free to speak. I like things that reference other things. You can draw me a neat little drawing too, If I like it, I might get it as a tattoo. Yeah? Cool.
I understand tattoos are not necessary. I do not want one bad enough to get anything. It has to sort of glow and say "This one". It has to remind me of being nineteen when I am fifty-four. That I am thankful for growth and learning, and all of that sort of thing. Something, that when I see it, helps me contemplate my actions and thoughts and steer them towards the better.

I totally think you should go for it if you find the right one...I don't have any yet but within the next few years I plan to have around 6 of them...and yeah I know what you mean about it has to be special for your whole life...I think it's so dumb when teenagers go out and get something that represents some current trend or get someone's name...and then they break up...actually I find that one quite funny...but yeah if you find the right one go for it...sorry I can't really help you out with ideas I'm far from creative
HaHa there was this guy in high school that had Metalica tatooed just above his knee. He swore on it and siad it would never fade out of popularity.
By the time colege rolled around he decided that he was diffrent and had to get it inked over.

i'm getting a tattoo myself this summer, and although i am younger to be getting a tattoo i have thought about what i wanted and where i wanted it for years.
practically near the collar bone is a great place to get a tattoo (for a guy anyways) to prevent any discrimination in the work place.
plus the tattoo itself just sounds pretty cool.
happy inking :]
love to give you some tips.
-Get something you won't regret ( from the way it sounds you won't)
- Make sure you check out the tattoo place. I got a tattoo on my shoulder blade and it looks like crap. My other one looks brand new. You want reccomendations from people or maybe something along those lines. You don't want to be in the same situation I am in.
-Realise this is a permanant choice. Just making sure you know this. Some people will get mad.
- Be careful with your choice of where you get it. Some jobs will not hire you or make you cover it up.
- don't get something too small it will turn into a blob. Get it rather large, not extremely , but big enough where it won't run together
That is all I can think of right now. I draw great (from what others say) I could try and draw you a tattoo if you want. :) It does hurt. Depending on where you get it. it hurt worse on my back because it was on bone. It hurts worse on bone. The one on my hip didn't hurt at all. I think it may depend on the person though.
I would go for it though! Great idea.

Love comments? I do too!
I agree. My suggestion would be not to listen to reccommendations since everyone else has different ideas of what good and bad work is. Instead, ask to see the person's work and judge it yourself. Don't judge whether or not you like the art, but whether or not it is good quality art.

I can't say if it is right or wrong but a lot of people discriminate against people with tatoos when they make hiring decisions. I think they see it as a sign of rebelliousnous and who wants a rebellious employee?
If your not prepared to live with that then I recommend your not put one where it can't be covered up with the clothing you would wear to work for your profession.
