I've searched and searched (as much as I can given how the
focus of my life is taken up in other areas) and have found
few good modern anti-war, anti-bush, pro-peace, protect the
constitution etc. songs. I thoroughly believe that it is my
search tactics that are deficient and not that people aren't
making good, entertaining, inspiring music. I thought if I
could share my three favorites here, (really the only three
I know about that aren't heavy ear busting heavy metal--and
I'm not opposed to heavy metal, I just personally don't
enjoy constant harsh music, especially when I can't hear
the words. There are songs I do like though). I was
fortunate to have two of these anti-war songs sent to me,
and the other I found accidentally while trying to
find the one by Pink again. If you enjoy them, or know
of others will you please post links in my comment section
or send me a private message?
Pink, Dear Mr. President:
Jamison Hodge, Dear Mr. President (entirely different song,
same title)
My favorite, my daughter's favorite (and shes in
kindergarten), she asks me for it all the time. I hope I do
right by her.
Bill Durston, War Is Not A Game
And of course this link, which is not a song, but a video,
but I find extremely amusing in its satire:

This one is one of my favorites:
"Let Them Eat War" - Bad Religion
There's a prophet on a mountain and he's making up dinner
With long division and writing crop
Anybody can feel like a winner
When it's served up piping hot
But the people aren't looking for a handout
They're America's working corps
Can this be what they voted for?
Let them eat war [x2]
That's how to ration the poor
Let them eat war [x2]
There's an urgent need to feed declining pride
From the force to the union shops
The war economy is making new jobs
But the people who benefit most
Are breaking bread with their benevolent hosts
Who never stole from the rich to give to the poor
All they ever gave to them was a war
And a foreign enemy to deplore
Let them eat war [x2]
That's how to ration the poor
Let them eat war [x2]
There's an urgent need to feed declining pride
We've got to kill 'em and eat 'em
Before they reach for their checks
Squeeze some blue collars
Let them bleed from their necks
Seize a few dollars from the people who sweat
Cause it's freedom or death and they won't question it
At a job site the boss is god like
Conditioned workhorses park at a stoplight
Seasoned vets with their feet in nets
A stones throw away from a rock fight
But not tonight, feed em death
Here comes another ration (feed them death)
Cause they're the finest in the nation (feed them death)
When there's nothing left to feed them
When it's freedom or it's death
Let them eat war [x2]
That's how to ration the poor
Let them eat war [x2]
There's an urgent need to feed
"Don't Get Me Started" - Phil Collins
B.Y.O.B
by: System of a Down
WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR!
Barbarisms by Barbaras
With pointed heels.
Victorious, victories kneel.
For brand new spankin' deals.
Marching forward hypocritic
And hypnotic computers.
You depend on our protection,
Yet you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Kneeling roses disappearing,
Into Moses’ dry mouth,
Breaking into Fort Knox,
Stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!
Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Blast off, it's party time,
And we don't live in a fascist nation,
Blast off, it's party time,
And where the fuck are you?
….. Yeah
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X4]
Kneeling roses disappearing,
Into Moses’ dry mouth,
Breaking into Fort Knox,
Stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!
Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Where the fuck are you!
Where the fuck are you!
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X3]
Why, do, they always send the poor [X3]
They only send the poor [x2]
It's a really good song
If you go to www.JamisonMusic.com it will take you to my profile that has my version of the second video above.
"Boom" by System of a Down is also good.
"War Pigs" by Black Sabbath...not really new, but it's good. I listen to classic rock almost exclusively, because it's the only genre that doesn't include songs that annoy the crap out of me.
gov't and things that are bieng done by our goverenment, Eminem had Mosh. Black eyed peas, are against the war and the song is , Where is the love?
U2's done tons of anti war songs. Dixie Chicks don't like the war and have been hated by a lot of their previous fans because they are anti Bush...Kanye hates the gov't in general, Mos Def too...Talib Kweli, tons of rock artists too. There's SO many songs that are filled with anti war sentiments

"Rebel with a rebel yell, raise hell," Eminem raps. "We gonna let him know/Stomp, push, shove, mush, fuck Bush!/Until they bring our troops home." Later in the song, he adds, "Let the president answer on higher anarchy/Strap him with an AK-47, let him go fight his own war/Let him impress daddy that way . . . No more blood for oil."

It's more a general peace and good will song, but I think it applies. And it's beautiful!

Michael Franti wrote the album "Yell Fire" to protest the Iraq war. There's a line in one of my favorite songs on the album that says "those who start wars never fight them, those who fight wars never like them...."
"Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical, and expecting more than others think is possible."
