Grabbing a girl with no sexual motive--- a sexual offense?
Let's say you're driving down a street and suddenly a girl walks right in front of your car. You quickly swerve to avoid hitting her. You become angry that a girl foolishly almost got killed. You jump out of the car to lecture the girl. You come up and grab the girl's arm and she pulled away and called authorities.
You are arrested and are being prosecuted for attempted kidnapping and child abduction charges. The jury believes your story but you're found guilty of restraint of a minor. That's a sex offense under your state law! SO you HAVE TO register as a sex offender and keep authorities informed of your residency. You can't live near parks or schools either. You don't believe it but it happened!
This happened to Fitzroy Barnaby, a 28-year-old from Evanston, Illinois. He grabbed a 14 year old girl's arm to reprimand her carelessness. In return, the girl pressed charges and he got labeled a sex offender.

Nah. I don't think so. But I'm also not sure whether I would consider it disrespectful since she was female. He obviously didn't want her to get hurt. She was probably not being attentive; like an idiot.

I remember hearing about this man who worked at Disneyland or something as Snoopy(?). Some cartoon dog. He was hugging this teen girl in a picture(with her mom there). She and her mom sued him on the basis of sexual harassment. She said he was touching her boob. I think the glooves were probably too big and he didn't notice:D.

I wouldn't go that far- but nobody has the right to touch another person! I would be pissed if someone got out of their car and grabbed my arm-maybe the girl was attacked(sexually) before and that is why she resorted to pressing charges??

Holy shit. 14-yr-old girls today sure are up there in the sky. At least be thankful that the man didn't hit her with his car.

I think that her reaction was a little extreme. Although, he really didn't have a right to touch her, but come on! Pressing charges because he touched her arm?!? Even if he did do it roughly, it's because she was almost killed. She should just be happy that he saw her in time and swerved.

He shouldn't have grabbed her (even foolish people have a right to their own space) unless there was an immediate danger, which it doesn't sound like there was, since he had already swerved around her, but it doesn't sound like it was sexual in any way, so he shouldn't be considered a sexual offender.
That's just a little extreme.
He may learn to keep his hands off other people especially young girls from now on. He should have gotten a jail term for battery or something, not sex offender sentence.
