What I Hope To Get From College

-I wrote this for a scholarship contest...figured I could post it in here too.  

I hope to start and succeed in owning my own landscape design and building company. I don’t only want to design landscaping for customers; I want to be the one out there building it. I will take part in every aspect of my business, instead of hiring others to do what I want to. By going to Ivy Tech I will learn the correct way to design things, while applying my own thoughts and ideas. I will also get the personal effect of the school, with small class sizes; this will help when I will ultimately work with customers one on one, or a small family to design their yard for them. Ivy Tech will teach me how to successfully work in landscape architecture and design, as well as work with people in an efficient way.

After a few years of working with my design and building business, I hope to open a storefront, a small nursery, as well as all the supplies you would need to do anything you wished to your landscape. All while still designing landscapes, and working with the architecture involved.

I also hope to take business classes, to better understand the proper way to run a business.

I hope to achieve a successful career and business by attending Ivy Tech State College.
