Tupac Shakur once said:
"Theres only one life to lead, a fast life of greed. Criminally addicted, infested since a seed. We all die, breed bleed like humans, ...
The world, the world is behind us. Once a kid get an understanding on the game and what the levels and the rules of the game is, then the world ain't no trick no more. The world is a game to be played. So now we lookin at the world, from like, behind us. Niggaz know what we gotta do, just gotta put our mind to it and do it, It's all about the papers, money rule the world ."
From: Tupac Shakur - Staring at the World Through my Rearview (Tupac Resurrection)
Many of you are probably avid haters of rap music. Yet one must look beyond the music and embrace what this man said. He was a normal individual, the stereotyped "black man" who was a drug dealer at once, and lived in a bad community. But he rose up, he broke away from the drug dealers.
In the above song, Tupac talks about life. At the point of release, Tupac had been dead for years. This song was a song he recorded before he died, and was digitally remastered by Eminem and others. Even before he died, he knew that success in life was achieved by being greedy, and living a fast life that you lead. Did he know well enough what was going to happen that he basically prepared these songs about his prophecies beforehand? Its amazing to ponder at how a person could have done so much, and changed the lives of so many in such a short span, and continue to do so after death.
This song and particularly the second paragraph I have above is important because it makes me think: If he had life all figured out before his death, why did he still get shot. Why didn't he see that coming? Also, is he trying to say that "black" people are ahead of the game because they know what to do? A lot of what he said is true, and money does rule the world, and he saw that during his life, and we as a society see it daily.
The man was amazing. We can only dream of a rapper like him to emerge in the future, and make a difference like he did.
Tell me what you think about this post and Tupac Shakur.

Tupac in my opinion was the greatest rapper... don't look that much into it. Yes everyone knows money rules the world duh... He didn't know what was going to happen. He was no prophet just an average guy who used what was given to him a great flow. Voice dubbing also, so tomorrow I could mix a track that makes me sound like pac and say man I'ma die in vegas on the strip after the fight them shots gonna ring out and light up the night etc... You get money by putting in work not living the fast life or being greedy... you get more money by being greedy but you got to work at it. Start a business or even getting in the rap game back then it was tough you needed talent unlike now ( Kanye West). Like I said no prophecies because if he knew he wouldn't have died. But yes 2pac is my favorite rapper of all time.
yes i'm certain there will be a great rapper and poet like tupac, i live in britain i'm 17 yrs old and am studying music, while i was in elementary or primary school i studied poetry and wrote a whole book of poems but it was never published, you shouldn't say there will never be a great rapper like tupac if you believe you can do it and you know this world is full of injustice, racism, discrimination, envy, greed, jealousy, poverty and crime just believe in yourself try your hardest you will make it if you want further information about my blessed work my address is
59 loudoun square, butetown, cardiff, wales , great britain, cf10 5je
There will surerly b wiked rappers and evrytin But kno man is evr gona be liek 2 PAc .. 2 PAc was D 1, He was respectd By ALL, all these artists now wanna be bettr den 2 Pac but 2 Pac had sumtin Dat Non of dese Rappers du, all dese Rappers wana say lyrics like 2 pac but no Rapper can F*** wid 2 PaC Lyrics.. The saying 2 Pac used to cum out wid were Tru Like sum1 sed b4 he was no prophet but he new the World Inside out n the people of this world 2 pac will alwayzbe remembed
The lyrics certainly say it how it is. I hope that more people will realize these types of destructive patterns in our society, and I hope even more so that people will take actions to reduce these patterns. If people can start informing their own personal circles of influence in a positive way then I believe that the larger circles of power will be affected also.
There will never ever be another rapper as good as tupac was. Since his death rap has gone only downhill.
Even if you are exaggerating a little, you are right that since his dead, thing are not so good for the rap (actually for the fans)
yes but there are some still madd talented rappers out there. Birdman is amazing (big tymers). Young Jeezy, eminem, sean paul, nelly was good, game is amazing, luda is off the chain, a lotta underground rappers are insane. I'm more into the harder gangster rap you know. The problem is 2 many white boys who thought they were black started listening so now it's club rap. I am white and I am very very fortunate now but I used to be poor in the hoods. Lived in trenton, then to queensbridge, then buffalo now my dad got a huge promotion so now I live all rural and stuff in a small town outside buffalo. So I got my roots and I know what it's like to struggle that's why I like gangster rap. It's all about what you into... I'm the birdman I fly in any weather. If you listen to rap and you dunno what that means without lookin it up then you are a fake.
Last time i checked, Sean Paul was reggae, or something more towards pop. Not rap. And yes, rap has gone downhill, because all they rap about is guns, girls, cars, and sex. Tupac rapped about problems in our society, along with the "selling stuff". He made a difference. If rappers rapped about problems in society, like kanye west, except better, rappers would be seen as better people, not just people who are associated with the stereotype of a gangster.
It is considered rap. Well guns and that kind is good. Kanye West sucks and anyone who likes them does not know rap. Gang rap is good to me that's the best rap like bone thugs and stuff... but rap about cars is retarded. Personally I dont want them to rap about problems in society because I doubt anyone could like pac and it would be an insult. Pac had a lot of gangster rap to.

He knew too.
Tupac was born in The Bronx, NY and his first stage name was MC New York. He also grew up in Baltimore, MA and didn't get into the rap game until he moved to Oakland, CA. Tupac never denied he was from the Eastcoast either.
Don't read too much into it there isn't like an exact thing saying ima be shot on the strip in vegas after the tyson fight. Pac owns biggie. I mean we all can say ima die and im ready... doesnt mean we all know when.
HiramU is right.
All Biggie says is that I will die. EVERYONE says that. When I talked about Tupac, I meant that he knew something more. Biggie's work hasnt been as remastered and released as Tupac's. Everything Tupac said in his song "Through my Rearview" was written far before he died, and never released. What he said was more like a prophecy. What Biggie said is simply the fear of everyone in his community: that death was around the corner.
Tupac, in my opinion, figured out something about life. He figured out that life was a game, and he figured out all these things about life. But I think he was too far into figuring everything out, that he couldn't see what was in front of him: death.
Is it strange that people die before the evident truth is found? No one has been able to figure out life and define it to be something solid. Just a thought. It's probably wrong, but its supposed to stimulate debate, which it has... somewhat.
A few things. The song dayoungone621 mentioning 'staring at the world through my rear view' was not mixed by eminem. I know why you think this, because eminem did remix 4 unreleased songs on the 'Tupac Ressurection' soundtrack, however that album was, the sound track to the film. The song is still a Tupac Origonal from the 'Gang Related' Soundtrack which was released in 1997, and only apeared on this album because it was played in the film, like many other songs. All of the offical post-death tupac released albums almost every single song has been 100% unreleased material, But Tupac Ressurection is not a Tupac album, its the Soundtrack to the film Tupac Ressurection, hence why there is released music in it also. However, although im just clearing up miss information, its all together irrelevent to what your trying to get across so i won't bother nit picking ;).
As far as Tupac knowing he was going to die, i think after the 1994 shooting and onwards, everyone knew tupac was going to die. It was still shocking, but it was sort of a given considering the amount of people that wanted to stop him. He was a target from the begining, anyone with name 'Shakur' in america is automatically seen as a militant due to the black panthers, hence why government officals condemned him more than any other rapper at the time. Not to mention his troubles with other people. However what he did with his time is what made him special.
Remember Tupac himself said "I had a prophacy about my death, Thats why i record three songs a day, to get shit ready. Ten years after my death i still want to be on top". Ironically, this is his tenth year, and his final album of _unreleased_ material is set to come out in november. September the 13th the first single will be released however, to mark his death.
People can not compare biggies death lyrics to the same standard as Tupacs, Tupacs was much more than 'what if', it was acceptance. Which is sort of sad in a way.
Thanks for clearing me up jahova. And I look forward to blogging about his new album and single.
I dont like gangsta rap. I grew up in the hood. I like tupac though because not only did he rap about the problems in society but he rapped about what we can do as individuals to change that. It's time for us as rappers me being one to send a message to our future generation one that doesnt involve gangs violence and greed as the answer. People look up to rap artist where im from. And the harsh fact is that you have to just expect (no matter what color you are) for there to be more followers than leaders. Because what makes a leader....... someone who stands out from the crowd and goes against the flow. Change makes history. Not sticking to the same old stereotype. So i say its time to put down the guns and fight a different way and thats using our brains for once. Not saying that all the songs have to be happy go lucky. Atleast if you going to attack certain issues in a song, do it so that the audience can be aware of the wrong. Like the anti-slavery books written during the time of slavery. And another thing it would help if we had more rappers like tupac who used more than the first grade level vocabulary. We write and speak in order to make ourselves understood. A good vocabulary is one that makes the message we are trying to convey to the point and exactly how we feel about the issue. You always hear "I know what i mean but I dont know how to say it." If the right words arent there right ideas cant get through. A good vocabulary aids your ability to think and to share your thoughts with people. The words dont have to be big syllable words. The best message is the one that says exactly what you think but is simple enough for others to understand. What i see is not many rappers who care to send a message to express what they think. What i see is phony rappers who are only there to make that "paper" but not worried about the followers and the influence they have on them in there music. Music is a powerful thing dont underestimate it. We need more "real" rappers who dont brag but influence. Im black and would love to see a change in our society we complain that people judge us by our stereotype its wrong, but there are too many followers out there who listen to musical leaders who encourage that stereotype.
1. TUpac was not a drug dealer. NEVER in his life did he sell drugs. His mother however, was addicted to crack and abandoned him and his sister for almost two years (re: "evolutionary of a revolutionary" )
2. TUpac attended one of the most prestigious high schools in Maryland. (he went to school with jada pinkett). a close friend of mine went to school with him as well.
3. Tupac was a regular dude. that's it. why are we idolizing him?
that is our problem, too much hero worshipping. (Please read Kevin Powell's "Who's Gonna Take the Weight..."
4. Tupac was an admitted rapist .. he admitted later on that he allowed that women to be raped by his boys. that makes him an accomplice to rape. matter of fact, he was never finished his time. he was on bond while his appeals were pending (Suge Knight put the 1 million dollar bond).
5. why don't we talk about the Black Panther Party for Self Defense? his mom was a Panther.. Dr. Mutulu shakur, his "surrogate" father who is a political prisoner needs our help now then ever before. Let's talk about him. He was gangsta.. he was in the bLack Liberation Army and started a chiropractice in Harlem back in the 70s! He has done more to help his community then Pac ever did.
why aren't we talking about folks like Chuck D? who was instrumental in creating one of the most influential hip hop albums of all time (It Takes a Nation of Millions...)?
2pac was and is the greatest rapper, man, prophet whatever you wana call him.He knows things that other rappers will never know tupac will always be the realist nigga in the game.
I'll tell you that if pac was still out publicly 50cent would have been fucked up years ago, people think that 50 cent is the #1 rapper around these days they now nothing he raps about the same shit over, 50 cent is as real as a ghost his shit means nothing, pac would put him in his place str8 up.
stay real all true pac brothers and sisters.
The Hate U Gave Lil Infants Fucks Every1
Maybe he had a feeling that the way he would die was through getting shot.So he wrote about it. Or maybe someone saw that he wrote that he was going to so they made it come true for him. Either way I think he was a good rapper
DantresOmi- You are a rel dumb ass, you no nothing about tupac, its obvious by what you have written. tupac never admitted to rapping Ayanna Jackson, his lawyers wouldnt bearly let him talk about the case.
Jacksons story was full of holes, she said was raped in the the arse there was NO force shown or any seamen found. He was found innocent on all accounts apart from touching her arse without asking (and if you look into that bullshit you will see it was a set up).
and as for Dr. Mutulu shakur doing more than tupac, tupac only had a short life and just his music alone has helped thousands of troubled kids, such as myself. who knows what he could have done if he lived to be 80. and tupac did sell drugs he just wasnt any good at it so he stoped. So dont go round saying tupac or anyone is a rapest without knowing the facts. tupac's music will live 4eva and still who knows his music could one day touch someone who might change the world.
pac did not fuckin say the first quote dumbass
TUPAC was the greatest ever there can and wil only be 1 tupac..
tupac wasnt the greatest rappper....or the best mc
but what he brought was the message his lyrics ment something they made u think but was stil a very good rapper his skils were amasing..
r.i.p tupac
has heaven got that ghetto??
me again..
another gr8 thing about him was he wasnt racist no matter what had happend to him all the racial abuse he had sufferd
He also knows that some black people arnt all innocent say in one song not in these exact words thats he tries to blame the white peopel (the other side)
but then he says but its my own kind doing all the killing here (own kind..black people)
yh he did have some gangsta stuf in his songs but he knew that sold records he was only trying to get on with his life but he also wanted to get that message out there...
he lived a life of a 50+ year old in 25 years u have go to respect him he knew that what he was sayin not every1 wil agree with it made alot of people think he knew the stuff he was sayin was bound the make that sort of drama he knew he was goin to leave b4 his time
so he took every second of his life as if it was his last
also again his rapping skils were amazing his dissing song are brill and would not liked to be a enemy of pac's for 1 he deserved respect and 2 so i dont get publicy humilated by his disin =p
he didnt sound stupid doin it either like some rappers do he either retaliated or..
acauly dissed them with real facts
..
he has more people respect than alot more great artist's such as elvis marvin gaye
the beatles... because they didnt set out to change the world tupac did even the peopel tupac dissed they respected him even years after the people tupaac dissed have done many tribut songs and lots others to him he was respected and now even from biggie smalls biggie didnt have a bad word to say about him he knew he was great he only dissed to not look scared.. and p diddy
another reson why i think tupac was killed was that he said in the year 2000 u wuk be sittin in a election in a debate room
he was politicly minded he had the potention of bieng in high position in the country
possibly president
another reson maybe because he was plannin of goin independant
the amount of records he has sold would meen if he went in dependent he would be as rich as micheal jackson or many other top sellin artist
rap hasnt been the same since eminem can help change back so can snoop dre and manyother but its the peopel like 50 cent ja rule and g unti have messed rap up rap did used stil have some kind of messege to it but now 50 and his crew have changed it to be like aa im gona diss every1 talk about gun and murders and the rich's but people like them would of even been as bog as they were now if tupac and bigge were stil here biggies mc'in skils and tupac flow and his amazing way with words would of taken 50 and his (g) unit out of the bottom and every1 laughed 50 is listend to by little kids and now they think it is cool that he has been shot now cmon?
with his videos of him banged up ...yh tupac done a bit of one at the start of 2 of americaz most wanted but that was funny he made it funny he didnt rap in the song about him being shot not alot of peopel no this when tupac was shot the first time he was shot twice in the head only passin throu skin?? dont ask me how did u see him braggin noooo
and this is a fact 50 cent has makeup put on to make his scar on his jaw makin it more visable
there are many therys that make me belive tupac is alvie he had alot of reson to fake his death and he had the balls to do it but there are some things about fakin ur death that is so hard to do especialy for some1 famous like pac
he was a soulja to the very end.. stayed strong to the very end
even at his dieng days when he kept loosin his life he came back he kept fightin for his life even while he was in a coma ...
he sufferd them 6 days tryin to fight to stay alive they decided to stop his life suport he was hurtin his self goin in fits... and ther no way he could of lived with 1 lung gone and the other wounded ...
Tupac is sadly mised and his jesus like figure that peopel say he has is amazing he brouhgt them messege ... he changed the world
And i so wish i could of met him but me being only4 at the time of his death this being very hard i listenin to him at a very young age and even like him then i could understand alot of his music already...and my parents didnt mind me listenin to tupac as his messeg was good butother rappers who had no messeg they wast so keen on until i grew up even my mum! likes tupac she dosent listen to him but she knows he had a good reson to live but my dad listens to him they split up.. but anyway he got me listenin to pac at a early age
i dont kno any1 even peopel who listen to rock respect tupac green day done a interview prasin tupac and i think this is long enough i stil have more to say lol
Tupac r.i.p hope ur happy about ur influence on many people
mackaveli the don!
resiliant to the very end, strong to the very end
i wil continue to speech goodness of u
R.I.P
oh and the dude who was dissin pac why are we makin him out to be a hero coz if u see and listen to himi right u kno he put out the messeag al rappers should rappers dont no this but they have more power to change the world than any other politcly person
2pac yes he did sell drugs when he was 14! to help his mum she fort he had a diferent job
2pac nver admited rape and for 1 the case said tupac just let them rape her not he raped her and for 2
2pac was a activist for the black panthas at a youg age
in tupac music it gave more than the black panthas did in years
and chcuk d? omg he acauly didnt kno he was dooin that he said so rlly it was just luck and why do they have a school for tupac and why in some parts of america is tupac part of the education??? coz he was a drug dealer and a rapist not! he didnt rape for 1 and it was all his effort in tryin to help change the world he wanted to do good he took every second of his life as it was his last
he was b4 his time..
+ his skils are crazy
even 1 line in tupac song get u thinking ... and for 1 this page is about praisin pac no dissin him he iis dead wh smashin a dead guy dick head

i think tupac waz like a prophet think about the words he was saying he was so prophetic and contaversial.he spoke the truth like jesus was back in da day he was like modern day and modern problems.
in my opinion tupac shakur is the best rapper. his lyrics are amazing. they not only are lyrics but they tell a story. a story of his struggles a story of his pain a story of his success. his life was trajically cut short and millions are missing out on perhaps dozens of potential tracks. no other rap artist has been able to reach half the success of 2Pac despite tupac's passing. tupac kept it real and said what he wanted to when he wanted to. he was the realist person out there and for that he will always be remembered. he rapped about how life was and is. tupac didnt rap about the gold rims or the platinum chains or dozens of women. he kept it real. many alive theories are out there and i geuss all of us his faithful fans want to believe hes still out there somewhere. we want to believe he's still chillin cause he is a great part of our livez and its hard to accept somebody like tupac just being taken away from us. i think that tupac would have a hard time just stayin away if he is alive. u wouldnt be albel to keep tupac quiet about all the stuff thats goin on in the world. you may be gone tupac but ur message is eternal. TUPAC SHAKUR R.I.P WESTSIDE
Tupac was one of the best rappers of all time. And for some reason, he keeps coming out with new stuff, so I think generations to come can love his music too. Pac will live forever, regardless of if he's still alive or not.
TUPAC WAS MORE THAN JUST A RAPPER. RAP WAS ONE OF HIS MEDIUMS TO GET HIS MESSAGE ACROSS. A ROSE THAT GREW FROM CONCRETE, A BOOK OF HIS POEMS. THUG CODE, HIS MESSAGE THAT HE WAS TRYING TO SPREAD OUT TO ALL. TO STOP SENSELESS BRUTALITY AND GANG WARFARE. SPEAKING THE TRUTH IS WHAT HE IS/WAS ABOUT. HUMANS ARE FLAWED AND HE SHOWED THAT SIDE AS WELL, YET HE IS HUMAN ENOUGH TO WANT TO CHANGE THE "SYSTEM"................ Brenda Cherie

IMO, his lyrics were repetitive and a lot more simpler after he signed to Death Row. I can only listen to "ride for my homies, enemies and hennessey," so much from him. I ain't saying he was wack, because there were some songs by him that I did like, however, he wasn't all that great when you put him up against people like Rakim, Kweli, Nas, KRS, Ice Cube etc.
all of that is so true. i'm a huge 2pac fan & i can relate to his music more than any other rappers'. the impact that he left on the rap game & on so many peoples lives is incredible & there is no denying that he was a genius.
