Racism

Racism affects everyone. I myself i am sick of getting called a racist. Its like this a (black) guy asked me to go to the Pickle festival with him. I am sorry but i don't want to go to a pickle festival! I mean what is a pickel festival I don't get the point with a Pickle festival. I turned him down. He asked me what i was doing and i told him I had the chance to either go to the beach or go to a concert. He said yeah it must be nice to be white and have money! This really upset me because i have black friends and they have always stood up for me before on this deal. But today he asked me to the movies when i said i didn't know if i wanted to do either of the above. I told him I would probably hang out with my friends this weekend because we graduate in a month and we are all going our seperate ways. I mean i decided to go shopping with one group and the second group decided that we were going to have a game night. He looked at me and walked off. I was talking to one of my friends and he came up beside me, and was telling her about how we had a date this weekend and how i was going to spend the night with him. It got away with me and i got an attitude with him. He looked hurt and made a 3rd attempt to take me out for pizza. I polietly turned him down and then went to go talk to one of my other black friends. Well when i went to lunch i saw alot of people staring at me. The next thing i know is i am a racist because I turned a guy down because I had plans and didn't want to go to a pickle festival.  I don't know I am sick of being called a rasist! And its only been one day. I am not a racist. If i was i would have never talked to the guy in the first place, but now he is spreading rumors about me. I can't stand it. What would you do in my situation?

The same. I mean I have been asked before by a guy who first off was a rcoker, and he said sick things. So he keept asking, I kept saying no. He didn't call me a racist, and I stayed away from him. What you should do is ignore him .You did NOTHING wrong, and if he keeps on spreding rumors and so forth, tell your councelor or principal, he is spreading lyes and using slander. Wish you the best

I can understand the whole deal with not wanting to go to a Pickle Festival, but it's also terrible that someone can take something out of context and accuse you of being something you certainly aren't. You know that you're not a racist, and your friends know that you aren't either, that should put your mind somewhat at ease. By the way, I predict that's probably not the first or only time that guy has, or will have, done that to someone, so it's very likely that lots of people already know how he acts like.
