Tennessee Town Has Ran OUT OF WATER
Many town and cities throughout the United States have been experiencing a drought. Many of which have had to alter their daily routines around their water supply. Orme, TN however has completely ran out of water. It's bone dry to its 145 residents. Firefighters have been having to drive tankers into New Hope, Alabama; making dozens of trips back and forth to fill their 20,000 gallon tankers full of water and bring it back to Orme. From 6 to 9pm is when families rush home to get supper started, clothes washed, and baths taken while the water in the town is turned on. Eight-thousand dollars of the annual $13,000 town fund has already been spend just on the tankers hauling water. A 2.5mile water pipe will be laid by Thanksgiving for a permanent source of water from Alabama to the town. The town has also received $377,590 emergency grant. I know how it is to live without running water; been there done that. And it's no fun at all. It's difficult to adjust to it if you've never had to live like that before.
