Stem cell research- or murder

So in this day and age we have progressed to the unknown and transformed the messy and horrifying process of abortion into a life saving practice of stem cell research. On one hand we have a child, who is not yet born. Abortions can be done up to twenty one weeks into the pregnancy. A fetus gets a heart beat mere weeks into the pregnancy. Pain receptors begin to appear in the seventh week of gestationThe thalamus, the part of the brain which receives signals from the nervous system and then relays them to the cerebral cortex, starts to form in the fifth week. 90.9% of abortions are done with curettage, a method of suction and aspiration. Now if the "fetus " can feel pain and has a heartbeat within 10 weeks of gestation and we allow women to have them sucked out up to the middle of the second trimester is what we are allowing not murder. On the other hand there is always the new-age technology of stem cell research, allow a blind man to see a cripple to walk, that sort of thing. Yet, when a new life is to die just to improve on the already living is it worth it? Should people be allowed to act in a manner of conception then throw away the result.  If a man steals from a store does he not go to court, pay damages, serve time. Or say a woman shoots up heroine will she not be prosecuted. If the do the act the must accept the consequences. Why should abortion be any different. Many countries see abortion as a horrific practice as not only common murder but as a murder of an innocent baby. It is illegal in many european countries. Why do we imprison a doctor for mal practice when a baby dies after birth but when the mother decides to kill it before it has the chance to cry we embrace her right to do so.

There is no logical answer...selfishness comes to mind. That's it, and I am Pro-choice because I chose life. But I am all for stem cell research, especially since the best stem cells come from an umbilical cord which means a baby was born. Not only that, but we harbor stem cells in us and people are helped by this.

I like stem cell research but I feel it is still kinda freaky and could have some abnormal side effects in practice.

A new life doesn't have to die in order to get stem cells. They can be retained from an umbilical cord or even from an adult. Those kind may not be as effective most they still can work. I don't see anything wrong with using those kind of stem cells.

Actually, I think that an abortion can be requested at any stage of pregnancy in the USA, right up until one goes into labor.

I'm not really sure how all of your facts about fetal development relate to stem cell research, especially since stem cells are from human embryos when they are only days old. So nothing has formed yet....just universal stem cells.
