Everyone is so
freaked out by what the future might bring.
People are so caught
up in what might be that they forget what is.
We need to start
living in the present.
Stop thinking about your future.
It will come, and
when it does, you can worry about it then. For now we need to go with the flow.
Let it be. Live and let die. Stop to smell the flowers.
We are constantly asked what we
want to be when we grow up. I know adults that say they "still don't know
what they want to be when they grow up". Once you are in high school its
like things get put in high gear on your path to college. When I was a freshman we took a career test,
then when I was a junior my guidance counselor pulled out my results, and
handed me packets for careers in the area I scored highest in. Then he asked me what career I am most
interested in from that field and we could see which classes I could take next
year to help me get there. I scored highest in arts categories, but I looked at
him and said "I want to me a middle school math teacher". The look on
his face was priceless. Instead of him telling me what to be, I told him what I
want to be. What I become is up to me. He doesn't even know what I'm like; all
he knows are my results. How can he tell me what to be when I grow up... it's
not his choice anyway. I think that might be part of the problem. We listen to
what others tell us to do, instead of listening to ourselves, and doing what we
feel is best. Then we just do what we're good at, not what we like. We’re so
worried about what we want to be when we grow up that we forget that you should
like what you do, not just earn tons of money.
Now, we should pay attention to
what we like. Do things you enjoy.
Don’t worry if that’s
what you want to do when you get older.
What happens happens.
Just go with the
flow.
"I'd rather be a
failure at something I enjoy than be a success at something I hate."-
George Burns
As for the past; it's done. Get
over it. You can't change
it now. What happened, happened. Now all you can do is learn from it... not
dwell in it. Focus on who you are now. You can change who you are now.
