Jazz on Legg Mason

Here's a recent happy poem I wrote about an experience I had a couple years ago in Baltimore City after I went to an Orioles game. I was thinking about Baltimore City during St. Patricks Day where my parents took me to the city to see a parade that Sunday. But that also made me think of this moment that I adored. I still think about it. I even added a little note about New Orleans since Louisiana is famous for bourbon and jazz music. Hope you love it!

Trumpets and trombones
on the corner of Legg Mason
With a black sign that says "BELIEVE"
Hear the music play...

The brass blares loudly with jazzy sound
The music begs me to stay
A woman moving around
as the crowd watches the men play

The African Americans laugh smile dance
To their hearts desire
I walk by and I glance
at the bourbon instrumental choir

The music is warm like brandy
Fast paced euphoric groove
It’s fine and spicy
I feel like I want to move

The boys play on
I watch with content
The love spreads along
And I hold on to it in my intent

My parents grab my hand
we had to leave now
I’ll give my love forever to this land
And to this music that’s loud

Trumpets and trombones
on the corner of Legg Mason
New Orleans was like that
The music never stopped

I hope it will return.
