Alright, so this one is to progressiveu and to bloggers also. So I don't know about you, but sometimes, there are just those blogs that really stand out. Usually, progressiveu notices these blogs and will feature them on the homepage, but I have an idea that could up the anty and really push us all to be really progressive and insightful in our blogs.
I'm recommending that progressiveu start a "blog of the day page" Bloggers could access that page just like the other main categories and read really interesting blogs by featured bloggers. One blog could be picked for each day, an just to make sure that one blogger wasn't monopolizing, it could be limited to like one blog per person on that page per week. Now here's the point incentive for bloggers. They first get more points because by putting it on the blog of the day page, more people are likely to read it because progressiveu saw it as especially spectacular. Second of all, I think that featured bloggers should get maybe 100 points for the post to really reward those who are progressive.
I think that this incentive will reduce any "non-progressive" blogging that has been reported (though I haven't seen any). I also think that beside the point rewards, it gives a pat on the back to those who really wrote inspiring blogs and motivates us all to achieve that standard. Tell me what you think.

That is such a great idea. I completely agree.
I like the idea, but I think there should be more than one for each day since there are so many amazing blogs written each day. I know I would have trouble picking between five or so of them, and many folks might think it's hopeless trying to get on the "blog of the day" page if there's only one picked each day.

that's a great idea. i love it.
I agree with you .. blogs that disserve a higher status should ... but i may post those " non-progressive" blogs you speak of... i blog about debate topics but sometimes i also post funny news story such as crimes that ended oddly or things like that ... those are progressive in that people just need alittle break outta there stressful dasy sometimes ... and to me reading stuff like that just makes you giggle and helps.
To go along with what ashley and ccons wrote, maybe there should be five featured articles plus a funny / light hearted one of the day as a tention reliever...i know it would probably decrease to wrinkles alot of us will end up having...Great Idea i hope it gets put in place by next year

That sounds like an awesome way to do it....I just think it's cool how the ideas can build upon each other like this and turn into something really cool...and, of course, really progressive...

i love all the additions, hopefully now the progressiveu team will see it, like it, and implement it for the next round! Thanks for the extra ideas. I especially like the one about the funny blogs. I need something to laugh at sometimes too.
Great ideas -- thanks!
Another thing I would like to see is a top read blog page. Perhaps haiving all the blogs with 10,000 reads and over.
I think this an excellant idea to give light to better written blogs because it showcases what this site is for. Plus who doesn't like getting extra points, and I think the better blogs deserve to earn a few extra points.
That really is interesting. This will probably help having more blogs featured on the front page. I am looking forward to this idea becoming true. I haven't read any funny blog at Progressive U in a while. Or maybe I just don't get sarcasm.

The editorial team tries to do this with the front page. Personally, I like the front page better than a blog of the day because it allows flexibility. For instance, there are some days when there are seven or eight really good, insightful blog entries, and some days when there are none. I think trying to put our efforts to narrowing down or trying to stretch for one a day would prove less effective.
I would like to see more point incentives for good blogging, but that's a team separate from the editorial team.

well... if you really want to do something based on points. Vote. Those blogs with the highest points get listed under highest rated and you get points for voting. Plus the really good ones will then get more reads too.
