Not Supporting Illegal Immigration = Racist: I Think Not

Does not supporting illegal immigration make you a racist? I say no, although many of you will disagree. You will say that they have a right to come here and pursue a better life. And I have no problem with looking for a better life, but do it legally, plenty of other people do or at least try to. I understand that it can take years to get to America legally, but when someone crosses a border illegally they cut the line so many are waiting patiently in. It doesn’t matter where you come from Latin/South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, even Canada, if you are illegal I do not believe that you should be here.

Now to the argument that not wanting illegal’s makes me a racist. No it doesn’t. Just because I am not a supporter of illegal immigration doesn’t mean that I don’t like any immigration. In fact I am glad that I live in such a culturally diverse country, as they say variety is the spice of life. It’s just that if you are going to immigrate do it legally. When someone comes into this country they don’t have to pay either state or federal taxes. They also typically, not always, don’t have medical insurance, meaning that when they are sick they go to the county hospital ‘s emergency room, and then again typically, not always, cannot pay for it.

I understand that everyone wants a better life but when it is done illegally, not only is it against the law (hints the name), but it doesn’t really help anyone. Sure there are people who have been here for years and never been caught, but what if you are caught. Then you have to get a lawyer, go to court, and possibly get deported. It seems like the cons far outweigh the pros.

So do my views make me a racist, I say no, feel free to disagree because you are entitled to your own opinion. My views don’t make me an ignorant person, or a racist, I believe it makes me a person looking out for my country and those who obey the law.

I encourage you to leave a comment so that I can hear your opinions. I am only interested in civil debates so if you just want to rant, please go somewhere else.

Your right looking for a better life is a good thing
you are also right that people "should" come to America Legally
But some can not. They have no money, little education, and no supportive government, and sadly our government isn't one to just make it easy.
People are dying in Mexico waiting for America to "get back to them"
People do what they think is best for them and thier families even if it is breaking the laws, i can't disagree with them for that.

Yeah, but do you agree with them not paying taxes, that we pay, for our social security?? Do you agree with our legal immigrants and family members missing out on job opportunities? What about schools and goverment benefits, like social security?? Do you agree with illegal immigrants getting social security, which by the way they can, i read all about it. I love for people to come to America, i think it is nice, but to sneak into it illigally, i do not agree.

I'm sorry but What jobe opportunities?
have you seen the job Illegal Immagrants get, they are not top of the line, They take the jobs nobody wants. What law abiding citizen takes a job worth less than mimimum wage to do manuel labor for more than the 40 hours a week. You make it sound like they are taking good jobs, no they do lawns(not trying to stereotype), Pick fruit, and do what ever else they can.
No I wish they could do it legally but sometimes it's not an option
America has made it not an option.
And another Question if these people are coming here to live in a shitty apartment, with a shitty job, what are they coming from. America feels it should intervene when oil is at stake and you have organizations like Darfur to help those people. Maybe if we took a little bit of concern for how the Mexican Government treats it's poor we would see changes in immigration.
and most immigrants have no idea how to reek the benefit of being an immigrant, like getting Social Securtiy free from the government (could you source that book i would love to read it)
