Middle East

I don't know about other people, but I do not support the war on Iraq, the intentions may have been good, but now we have over stayed our welcome. Do we blame Bush, or the Bush Administration? Or is it that we came initially to support 9/11? Okay so that was the original intent, but is it still true now, or are we just prolonging the inevitable- Civil War between the multiple religious and ethical groups that reside in Iraq? What is your view on a civil war in Iraq, is it possible to stop it, or will it occur even if we try to stop it? Does anyone support the war, and why? Any ideas on why or who could help us? Do you think it will be the next president to take office?

The other part of the question is Afghanistan. Recently I read the book, Three Cups of Tea and loved it. For anyone who has not read it, it tells the mission of one unknown group based in Montana who build schools and other needed institutions in remote regions of Afganistan. They help build bridges, communial houses, and even water systems for refugees. This was the first time that Afganistan had actually looked like a lovely country instead of the war torn pictures that we used to see before the war on Iraq. What the original reason to attack Afghanistan- oh yah, they helped with 9/11 bombings-UH, NONE OF THE HIGHJACKERS WERE AFGHANISTANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, that is a sore spot for me. Anyone have any comments. Has anyone else read Three Cups of Tea, and how has it changed your view of Afgahnistan and the war in the Middle East?

Any comments are welcome about either war!!!

Although I don't like war, I think that the Iraq war is still necessary. We can't just pull out right away because it will cause not only our country a lot of turmoil, but their's as well. We have already done so much, so if we stop progress, then it's like it has all gone to waste. I understand that it could go on a very long time, but we have already been there for awhile now. We could end up with another attack on us if we pull out right away. I think that Bush has done the best he could do with the situation given to him. Everybody thinks they could do a better job, but really, do you think you could if you were put in that kind of situation?

I am mixed about this issue. At least about the war. But I see a corelation between Bush's father and the president bush we have now. Bush's father took us to iraq to fight a war. We were also in a recession when he was president. Bush has now taking us to war in Iraq yet again and we are close to recession. I believe his intentions were personal because he had word about 9/11 happening yet Bush wanted to keep reading the children their stories...lol He said he watched one of the towers go down yet..he did not. I believe his intentions might have drifted towards good, but we are still chasing the ghost of bin laden. As for the war I have mixed feeling I am not sure.
