So i have been Involved in a Kong Fu class for several months now and have loved it very much. One of the things that makes the class so interesting is that my instructor is blind. Now of course we have another teacher there to watch us and make sure we are doing the moves right and what not, but how cool is that. I jumped at the oppertunity to get to train with him. It has been proven after taking many classes with him that your eyes can be very decieving to you. Kong Fu is learning about how to protect your self, but yet it is not harmful to anyone in the learning process like some schools tend to be. It is a very gentle fighting and very respectful as well. The forms are beyond amazing and yet holds a lot of power. I was trying to learn a few self defense moves but kept falling into a trap that my partner would throw at me. The one day my instructor came up to me and told me to close my eyes and just feel the movement of the person. So i tried it, and he was right it is a lot easier for me to fight with my eyes closed then open because my eyes are not deceiving me. You should try it sometime you would be amazed at the difference that it could make for you. I just found it really cool to get the chance to live in someone elses shoes for that time, can you imagine if that was all that you had to go by for your whole life.
