Gov. Jon Corzine In Critical Condition Because He Broke His Own Law

I have a question:

According to NJ State Law, it is illegal to drive or be a passenger in any vehicle without a seatbelt. Now, does that mean that governor's have to wear seatbelts, too?

Excuse me if I come across a little brash, but let me give you some background on this situation.

Governor Jon Corzine is a Democrat who lives and serves in New Jersey. Among his many great accomplishments lie his cutting of funding to NJ Abbot Districts (the lowest-income school districts in the state), and the aforementioned seatbelt law.

While I was watching the news last night, I caught wind that he was being currently replaced by Richard Codey until he recovers from a car accident he was in last night while being driven by a State Trooper from Atlantic City to Princeton.

The cause for his severe injuries that caused the press to describe his condition as being "critical but stable?" He wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

I feel bad for this man, and I hope he recovers fully, but I am not here to talk about his health.

Basically, he insinuated that the law doesn't apply to him. In the midst of all this drama, never did I hear someone mention the traffic ticket he received for this violation of NJ State Law. Why? Because he didn't get one.

We can't allow our nation to become a hierarchy, and neither can we permit our government's law enforcement to be based on hypocrisy and corruption. Sure, it's a ticket now, but it'll be a summons later, and then maybe a bribe or two. You do the math. It just doesn't sit right with me at all.
