Many Americans today have little to no healthcare due to a large number of High priced doctors, inflated insurance or not enough Federal reserves to sustain them on a federal govt. ran plan. But, this can be Fixed take a look at Canada and there form of a “Socialized” health care plan. This form of healthcare gives care to every one not taking into consideration there Income level, Job Status, or Things such as that. This plan is played for, and Ran by there Government Through taxes, and such. Yet of course this plan is not without its Flaws, since the government is paying for the care there Taxes are raised, Money taken from income is increased and prices on good are inflated to cover the costs of using this plan. These are the fears and worries of most Americans when the thought of the US changing to a system like this one.
The main reasons why a country would want to use this form of healthcare would to be able to give care to all of there citizens equally, insuring that every one gets the same care as the next person. But, as said above, the flaws brought up by this plan are enormous and can cause a sever impact of the Economic standing of the country, if not played right. But if a country does change to this “Socialized” plan for health care then it would be a Great benefit to its citizens, and Of course it’s not impossible to Do this and make it work. But If a Country is under the Democratic, or republic Governmental system, then how can these two Ideas work one in one, Being that They are Part of a totally Different Field? Well the answer to that is there, but it is hard to find, and not easy to answer.
The one simplest and easiest way to answer that question is well to change the government. Well, yes, we could just change the Government style, but with the US that would not be an easy thing to do. The US is too proud of its Government and would not easy change it at the Snap of our fingers. We would have to slowly Change each and every part of it till it is to our liking, which of course if we changed to a Socialist government, we would be doing something that would be disastrous for the US. Seeing as that with every other country that has gone under the Socialist system has been lead to Either Communism, or into a Dictatorship. Remember the One rule, Absolute power Corrupts absolutely. Meaning that if we where to put the government into complete power over our Health, Utilities, and any other Life necessity, then of course the Government would use that power to control us. So seeing as the total Flaws behind that, we can safely say that this answer is not a good choice to use.
In the 1960’s, with the hot topic of Communism on every ones mind, then president Ronald Reagan spoke about Universal healthcare and Stated that it could lead to communism. Now yes a universal health care system could lead to some form of communism, but that would only be if the rest of the government was Turned into that fundamental thought and form of communism. Changing just the healthcare system to This Socialized healthcare would not, by its self, Turn the Whole of the United States into a communistic Form of government. It would take much more time, and much more change for something of that magnitude to happen, and if it did in fact happen, many Americans would Rise and Make a change back to the original way of Government.
Now the Second answer to the Question asked earlier, this one is not as simple as Just changing the whole government. This one is much more time oriented and would require much more thorough investigation and money spent to make work correctly. The second answer contains 3 parts in it. The first part, would be to Take down private Healthcare insurance companies and close them down, there would be no use for Private health agencies. The second part would be to set up a government board for the Universal healthcare that would take care of the Money, doctor management, Hospital management, and the teaching of the doctors. The Third part would be to make a way of rating and Grading doctors on the way they Care for there patience. In the first part we would have to take down all of the private Healthcare insurers so that there is no third party paying for care besides the government. The reason for tearing these down is so that State ran Insurance companies can be set up. These state ran companies would be the ones to pay the doctors for there services. These State insurance company’s would Give each Family or individual , along with businesses a Monthly amount to Use to pay for there medical bills, and collect money if the person goes over there amount. In the Second part of the answer we would have to set up a universal governing board to Take over the administration roles of giving out federal money to each state, and issuing Checks on doctors on how there care is to there patients. They also would have the role of giving bonuses to doctors who go to school and learn every new technique there is. The third part would go along with the second, Grading Doctors on there care. There would have to be some sort of grading system for doctors so that there Care does not become poor and inadequate.
The Biggest concern Besides Care and changing what we are use to, is taxes. The first thing to say is, yes, the taxes would be raised, but there are ways to Cope with that and overcome it and use it to our advantage. As in Canada the Taxes would be raised on every thing from food, water, items, and also Income taxes. But the one surefire way to cope with it is to give options of allowing Citizens to put money into Healthcare funds, and to Increase the Taxes on trade with other countries. But the one problem in most cases People do not have Jobs, or are not gaining a Good income and can not pay for Items due to a increased tax. There is one other problem that needs to be fixed to stop that, which is illegal aliens, but that is another problem for another day. But if there were more jobs available to people more would have a way to gain an income, also States could, or should Pass laws and bills to Ride there cities of the homeless and find them jobs and Areas to live until they can get on there feet. If some one does not have a paying job, or does not Live in a house then They would not get Free care, due to they are not Giving back to help with the payment.
These ideas, and many in the World, are yes Flawed, there are no perfect answers to any thing in the world that is taken with problems. But working together and adding to them can help make them useable and Agreeable to every one. The best way for the government to use an idea like this is to actually look at what is going on in out own Country and stop getting into other countries business. It would need to be done with not the intent to criticize it, but instead embrace it as a new idea and one that could leave a positive impact of the society.

one issue you find in countries that have socialized healthcare is the quality of care and the time it takes to see a doctor.
There are many reported cases of people needing to wait months in order to get the care they need, particularly if there needs to be a visit to a specialist or some sort of x-rays done. I have a friend in Canada who hurt her arm in november and wasn't able to see a doctor for it until spring.
Then the doctor just told her to take aspirin and get in line for x-rays.
Also, quality of care. Michael Moore recently shot a film detailing the great medical care in Cuba.
However, he was shown to hospitals and clinics that exist for the government, and for public tours to show how great socliazed medicine is. In actuality, most clinics and hospials in cuba are FAR worse than our dirtiest 'free clinics' here in the United States.
There is a reason why world leaders fly to the united states for medical care: We have the best medical care in the world.
Yes, it isn't cheap, due in no small part to the rampant lawsuits and also the insurance game (and all the red tape that is a result of it). There are, indeed, also greedy doctors.
However, with all of the negatives, healthcare in the United States is still vastly better than in most other countries. Quality of Life is better in the United States than in most other countries. Why else do people from Cuba and other Central American countries risk their lives to get across the border (even if illegally) just to be in the united states? Why else do you see immigration constantly on the rise, from nearly every country?
How many Americans in a year choose to move to Cuba for a 'better life'?
there is nothing dirty about "free clinics"
have you ever visited one?
I doubt your statement that it takes people months to see a doctor in Canada, your "friend" example is not sufficient.
You are correct that people travel to the United States for health care. For the most part this is surgery, not regular office visits. Material Wealth of the US has driven amazing advances in surgery and other specialized medical procedures.
It is silly to compare the emigrant statistics of the United States and its neighbors...it is much more complicated than coming to see the doctor.
that's the point about free clinics... the worst ones here are better than the average clinic in places like Cuba.
and yes, I have.
As for my friend in canada... your belief doesn't matter much. what happened happened.
But, to play along, here are some other stories of the joys of socialized medicine:
http://www.theadvocates.org/freeman/8903lemi.html
quote:
When prices are zero, demand exceeds supply, and queues form. For many Canadians, hospital emergency rooms have become their primary doctor -- as is the case with Medicaid patients in the United States. Patients lie in temporary beds in emergency rooms, sometimes for days. At Sainte-Justine Hospital, a major Montreal pediatric hospital, children often wait many hours before they can see a doctor. Surgery candidates face long waiting lists -- it can take six months to have a cataract removed. Heart surgeons report patients dying on their waiting lists. But then, it's free.
And here's one about Cuba's tier system to make Westerners think their socialized medicine is good:
http://capmag.com/article.asp?ID=2538
And in the US people can get pushed through surgery so quickly that they end up DYING from that. A misdiagnosis leads to an immediate surgery that wasn't an emergency, just because the person could afford it. They end up getting a complication from the surgery that they didn't need in the first place, and they die. It's not as uncommon as we'd like. Wait times aren't always a bad thing.

hospitals are much different situations then clinics, and wait times are equally long here...especially for complicated surgeries. Prices equally zero has nothing to do with demand exceeding supply. If true, that would be a result of a lack of doctors. This would not be caused by a price being zero because still charge fees...it is paid by the state or national government.
As for people using emergency rooms as there primary doctor...this is from a lack of knowledge about the health care system, at least in the case of the United States. Clinics are available, paid for by the state, that any person can go to, and guaranteed to be seen. You may wait an hour or more, but that not severe.
And its not my belief that matters, its your lack of evidence that I was criticizing. You concluded that Canadian health care has outrageous wait times for care because of a single experience.
They also would have the role of giving bonuses to doctors who go to school and learn every new technique there is.
You're KIDDING me, right? Do you have any clue how much doctors are already responsible for knowing? There are two years of basic sciences at the beginning of medical school. Imagine taking an undergrad class that lasts a semester and condensing it into one DAY, maybe two. And you have to know it just as much in depth. If doctors were responsible for knowing every single new technique that comes out, there wouldn't be enough time for them to care for their patients. Heck, they hardly have enough time now with all the paperwork they have to do in order to get reimbursed for seeing the patient in the first place.
These State insurance company’s would Give each Family or individual , along with businesses a Monthly amount to Use to pay for there medical bills, and collect money if the person goes over there amount.
I don't know how I feel about this. Are you saying that they get $1000 per person per month to spend on healthcare? So if a new mother goes in and wants an epidural for her labor, she has to pay the OBGYN that delivers the baby and the cost of the hospital stay after delivery, because her entire stipend went to getting a pain medication? And accidents are horrible... they put families into bankruptcy because they cost so much.
Of course, if we went to a universal system, the price of things would by and large go down, so that would certainly help things. But I'm still not comfortable with the way you plan to bill things. There are people (many people) in this country that can't afford a $10 copay to see a general practitioner for even the smallest of symptoms. So they wait. If someone has a serious disease and isn't able to pay for whatever their insurance doesn't cover, they'll wait, and wait. And then they'll end up either dead or in the ER with a worse problem than they started with.
I'm still working on my solution, but I'll do my best to get it up by next week, since I had to describe a version of it yesterday at my interview.

Well let me Explain more.
As i said giveing Doctors Bounuses for Schooling and Such, i mean that they Keep up with the New Techniques that are Found to be useful in THERE field. i am not saying that they learn every thing, just the parts in there Field of Study.
And second, Yes If we did go Universal Healthcare, they Prices whould go down. And giveing a monthly Buget to Buisness, Families, and such given by the govt.. This whould Do well, Becaouse Phycologicly it whould Have people Careing more about there health. But Then again if it does not, You don't have the Govt. going bankrupt from spending so much on peoples healthcare. and this is why i also say to allow Private Financers to also help cover the cost of care.
But in all, the only real way to Do a Universal healthcare is if we have some sort of way to Lower the Cost to Produce medication and the Hardware such as X-Rays and such. If that happens then the price for Useing thouse whould go down.
Drugs are already cheap. The drug companies just patent them and inflate the prices while they have a monopoly on the drug. Look at Advil and Tylenol. I bet if you looked at the store brands of ibuprofen and acetaminophen, respectively, you'll see a sizable difference in price. Same goes for all the name brand drugs.
I'm doing a little more research (have about 90 pages left in the book I'm reading), and then I'll write up my proposals for universal healthcare. And it will be rather fundamentally different from yours.

Well i'll be Waiting to Hear your ideas on this subject.
But again, i do not have all my ideas on there. this is just what i wrote down, i will probly be Re-wrighting this and adding much more content.
