Made To Last Forever ~

This life is preparation for the next. How we live in the here and now largely regulates what eternity will hold for us. You will spend far more time in eternity than on this earth, so be sure you give this some serious consideration regarding the affairs of your life. If you are reading this and you say, “Ah, I don’t believe in the afterlife, this is as good as it gets.” Let me give you a morsel worth chewing on. If you are right and this life is all we experience and then we die, then you have nothing to lose. If you are mistaken, you have everything to lose, including your very soul.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes, “God has planted eternity in our hearts.” Longing for immortality is second nature to you and when facing unbeatable lifesaving odds, miraculous survivorship kicks in and you have strength you never had before, creativity and wit overtake you and in a moment’s notice you can get out of some pretty hairy situations.

Most of us will see death, a physical death in our lifetimes. When we stop breathing and our hearts cease to beat, we will cross over from death to life. Our bodies will no longer inhabit this earth alive, but our spirit and soul have a destiny and will go on, whether you believe this or not. Our lives on earth offer many choices, but eternity offers you only two, and they are choices only you can make for yourself while alive on this earth; either heaven or hell. If you accept God’s free gift of salvation and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for you thus bridging the gap that would inhibit you from entering heaven, you will have chosen well and eternity will welcome you ecstatically. If you choose to reject God’s precious gift of salvation, His love and forgiveness, you have chosen the broader of the two roads, but one where eternity only plans for your everlasting damnation and torment. Living without God in this life, will be a rough fact to endure when you breathe your last breath and travel into the next.

The decision to surrender to God and choose Jesus is an easy one actually. You are choosing either death or life and who in their right mind would want to live eternally dead in a place where gnashing of teeth and eternal fire awaits them? I am not trying to scare you, just give you the hard, cold facts of life you may not have considered before today.

When you give your life to the Lord, it does not mean all of a sudden you have no more problems, that life is like a bowl of cherries every day and that your worries disappear forever. It does mean more peace in your life, unimaginable strength in your times of weakness, extraordinary wisdom in when confusion arises and miraculous healing when you least expect it. Best of all, you can embrace eternity with a certainty that when you come before the judgment seat of Christ as we all will one day, eternity will be yours in heaven and you will know you have used your life to please Him and the almighty God of this universe.

I love how Rick Warren puts this in perspective for us. He says, “Death is not your termination but your transition into eternity, so there are eternal consequences to everything you do on earth. Every act of our lives strikes some chord that will vibrate in eternity. There’s far more to life than just here and now! Today is the tip of the iceberg. Eternity is all the rest you don’t see under the surface.”

What’s eternity going to be like you might wonder? Well, it is exceedingly far more glorious than you could ever imagine. God says, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” We can only see glimpses of what eternity will be like but how awesome those glimpses are. We know God is preparing an eternal home for us, one that cannot compare with any tangible home we could have on earth.

God’s plans for you are eternal, they last a lifetime and beyond. His purpose for you is to enrich your life and those around you. Just as in C.S Lewis’ story of ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, the great story has yet to be lived. The opportunity of a lifetime exists and it is within your grasp to reach out, take it and run with it with all your might. It is foolish to go through life neglecting to think about what is inevitably going to come to pass. Just as it is wise to consider the future in regards to a retirement plan, housing provisions and life insurance for your loved ones you leave behind, so it is with eternity, are you ready?

John 3:16 tells us most assuredly, “For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.”

Couple_O_Problems

1)"Let me give you a morsel worth chewing on. If you are right and this life is all we experience and then we die, then you have nothing to lose. If you are mistaken, you have everything to lose, including your very soul."

I have heard this argument many times, now lets say i went "OH GOD HE IS RIGHT, I don't want to go to hell, i need to cover my @$$"
wouldn't God know that my intentions were impure, not righteous-or does god not care what comes to him, he will take liars with saints?

2)"His purpose for you is to enrich your life and those around you"

How do you make everyone happy? When your God you can do anything and have everyone, but for some reason God made sin, created Satin, and Free choice just as a test to see if our humanity passes. You and the Bible play god as a sick man who likes to play games with souls. In the end he has damned many innocents in his own name, Why, because they refused to believe in something that gave them nothing. It is still speculation that God created people. All you have in your faith is a book and i would like to know why someone should honestly come over to your side. Why? in fear, loathing, happiness. You have this BOOK-(man made) and you want people to devote their entire lives too, and when they can't because they know in thier hearts it is just a book, what do you do... you damn them, put them put underneath you as the sinners, God's hated (yes they are hated because god knew what they would do the entire time and still created them to do it). This entire following is irritating, it actually hurts me to know people die for this, kill for this book.
