Where do all of you get your news stories? Because I'm having a hard time finding a news story to write a blog post about because of the Copyright issue. Or do some of you get your stories from watching TV? Because if you do, then I take it that you won't get in trouble for posting a story you saw on TV? Because I have a hard time doing that because I'm afraid that I might get in trouble for posting a story before or after a TV station posts it on the Internet.
Furthermore, I don't know what else to write about because the paragraph above is too short; so, please disregard this paragraph.

I don't like the media... I prefer to get my news first or secondhand, not after being processed by the news agencies.
You could write some of your own stuff and post that.

A friend of mine has a alternative news site called www.blacklistednews.com and I asked him almost that same question yesterday. I asked him how he takes AP news articles and posts them on his site? He told me that on his site is a disclaimer that states there is fair notice clause that states: This site contains copyrighted material the use of which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner. We are making such material available in our efforts to advance understanding of environmental, political, human rights, economic, democracy, scientific, and social justice issues, etc. We believe this constitutes a 'fair use' of any such copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US Copyright Law. What that means is that as long as you are not making a profit on the distribution of these articles, your free to post them. I hope that helps and please check out the above mentioned site, it is surprising what happens right in front of us everyday.
