Two piece dilemma

A two piece swim suit has its time and place; however some places and times are completely and utterly wrong.

WARNING WARNING

If your fit and /or confident then feel free to sport your skin the way you please. I was ‘or confident’ because I have seen not thin people wear the two piece fine and look very nice. Most of the time though overly thick (fat/ obese) people should NOT wear a two piece especially when it does not exactly fit. If any part of the two piece gets ‘lost’ in your folds please spare us all by getting a different suit.

Fat people wearing bikinis are not really the problem though. It is the people who do not have a choice in the matter, AKA little girls whose mommies and daddies pick the hoochy get up to sport their children’s skin.

The outdoor pool just opened this weekend and naturally I took my children out to enjoy the ‘big pool’ instead of making a mess in our little kiddie’s pool in the back yard. What I saw when I got there was disturbing.

Children should NOT dress like that. A two year old wearing a string bikini, triangle patches and all. Five year old girls dressed in similar revealing clothes.

If YOU dress them like this now, how do you expect to tell them not to when they are older and developing ‘maturity’? Will they rebel against this way by going naked or by over covering? What ever happened to modesty?

My daughter will be two in July and she wears the cutest one piece; it is red with poke-a-dots on the bottom portion and the one inch straps, the top part is a different pattern consisting of red and pink cherries on a white background with matching frills around the seems. Is has an adjustable tie strap in the back, the best part is you cannot see her ‘little swimmer diaper thing. She loves her nails to be painted and to wear her matching sunglasses. Everyone is always saying how awesome she looks. I love it because the compliments come without sacrifice to her modesty or dignity.

Fat people can do as they please, but children are OUR responsibility, And it is up to us to teach them right!

Why parents insist on parading their youngsters around like little pedophile bate is beyond me. And then they have the nerve to go ballistic when their teenage girls do not remain covered or end up sleeping around or whatever.

Do not get me wrong I do not mean to say that victims of pedophiles or rape bring this upon them selves. Nor do I mean to say this causes rebellious girls to get Prego early or engage in at risk behavior. I just can not believe the audacity of some people’s hypocrisy.

What is that saying…an ounce of prevention is worth more then a pound of cure.

Parents start it and then can not handle it when the children take this terrible fashion crap and run. Please people there is no need to slut-ify your babies, cover them and keep them safe from UVA/UVB and pervert’s eyes.

I agree with some of the things you said. Like little kids wearing tiny bathing suits it is just not right. I am chubby and wear a 2 piece but put a t-shirt on over it. I agree that overly big people should not wear 2 piece bathing suits, but I don't like the use of your phrase "fat people" I think fat is a gross and cruel word, and if you have ever been made fun of for 10 years straight about not being super thin then you may know this word is offensive.

I liked your blog and I agree but that term does not sit right with me.

Fat is offensive?? Fat means not super thin??? Would you perfer obese? Fat to me does not mean someone with just more to love, it is large extra quantities of lipid deposites causing a grotesque growth of ones body. I do agree that it is offesnsive...not only to to the particular person but to those that see the person as well.
The way I see it is if you are Fat and you do not like it Change...either loose weight or gain esteem some other way. Queen Latifa is beautiful!!

I am pretty sure you are wrong in assuming that I have ever been considered a thin person for more then a month or two and that I am not over weight. For the last ten years I have been struggling to lose weight and stay fit for the military, But I have done what I can and still continue to work desparatly at it. For some reason my top healthy weight ( 159 for 5'7") is almost an impossible goal.

This is not about Fat, its about modesty and children...
Excellent point Thank you

My 2-year-old niece has a 2-piece suit... but the bottom portion is a swim diaper. It's a neat suit and I was excited to find it in the store. No triangles or thongs or anything, just cute and modest.

I do understand and agree with what you're saying though. I'm just letting you know there are child-friendly bikinis out in the world. :-)

My pet peeve about how parents dress their kids is when I glance down and see a 4-year-old sporting a playboy bunny spaghetti-strap tank top, tight-fitting pants, and little 4-year-old ugg boots.

Oh goodness your going to get me started on another rant! I can not stand that it seems like all the little girl clothes these days are way to revealing...all of it has string straps, belly shirts, and inapropriately short dresses!!! If its not that its ugly little t shirt things and and way to stuffy clothes...Why Why! WHY!? were did the happy medium go?

I guess I could go on but I will settle with the fact that I have turned into an undershirt and undershort freak!

Did I mention the girl under wear with wrong sayings and Tinkerbell...nothing against tink or anything but it offers a way to wrong message for our young ones (girls AND boys)
...yikes!
No more ranting no more ranting no more ranting no more ranting no more ranting no more ranting no more ranting no more ranting no more ranting....okay I think I am done!!!!!!!!
