A democracy is a government where decisions are made by the people. In our government, we elect people to represent us. However, Congress has an approval rating that is headed toward single digits. If only around one out of ten people think our leaders are doing a good job, then our leaders are not doing their job at all. A representative is suppose to represent the people, not the agendas of lobbyists. Such low approval ratings are not democratic. Rather, they describe the very governments that our founding fathers tried to avoid. Something is not right with our leaders, and they need to wake up and start doing their jobs.
Is this any way to run a country?

I couldn't agree more. Although, I'm not so sure that it's all lobbyist's agenda's that they're pursuing. That arguement is too old and over-used. They also have their own agendas.
