College has forced me to open my eyes to views other people may have, and I am doing my best to integrate open-mindedness into my view of the world.
One world view, however, that I fear I will never completely accept, is Islam. (Muslims, may you forgive me, but I will explain.)
When a man's mind is opened, it can never be closed. When he tastes freedom, he will despise chains of control. When he is allowed to fell accepted, he will strive for nothing less. When he has extraordinary, why settle for anything less? I believe Islam works the same way.
Women dressed in burkas and told that if they dress in anything less, being lusted after becomes an issue. When women are allowed to vote, why should they not be allowed to on certain occasions? When women are allowed to own property, is it right to suddenly take it away from them? When women are allowed to drive, would it make any sense to suddenly take all females' licenses away?
In Saudi Arabia, teachers are typically men, though a number of women teachers have risne above the culture. In a study done in the 90s, women teachers had a 50% chance of dying in a carr accident while commuting to their jobs than men.
Fox News reported this:
"There are no current statistics on how many female teachers die every year. But 21 female teachers were reported killed and 38 others injured in 11 accidents reported by Saudi newspapers since the school year began in September...But female teachers find it difficult to move because they need permission from a male guardian to live alone and have to find a landlord willing to rent them an apartment. Many of them take the positions anyway and suffer through long commutes because job opportunities are scarce for women in Saudi Arabia, mainly limited to teaching and health care...Women are not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia, so the teachers must hire drivers — sometimes sharing rides in minivans, leaving home as early as 3 a.m. Many of the roads leading to the remote schools are windy, unpaved and full of potholes. 'It's as if Saudi (female) teachers are doomed to bid farewell to their families every day and embark on a journey they may not return from,' wrote Hasan al-Harthi in Al-Hayat newspaper."
Now, while I totally understand people have their religious beliefs, but why do they prohibit others? It's fine to believe things with a conviction, but we should never let our opinions affect other people.

There is no such thing as progress to be found in Islam. There has never been any, because of their addiction to chaos.
The chaos they are living is self-inflicted!
Progress means change, change affects the structure of Islam, affecting this structure is creating chaos.
Islam goes around in a circle, a circle set, build, created and sustained by unimaginable chaos.
Self-inflicted while not understood at the same time!
That's why I feel sorry for muslin women - they have no chance to escape what they were born into.
Women regardless if they are part of Muslim or any other worshipping religion are strong cookies.
Eventually in a few generations they will break free of the shackles.
It’s already manifesting itself stronger than ever before, it will take time to free themselves, but they will eventually succeed in doing so.
Oh, don't get me wrong! I would never say that women are weak and bow down to anything and everything. It's just frustrating when other guys put women down to a place in society where the men are allowed to have a better self-image, without worrying about that the women feel.
I don’t get you wrong, I’m not a US citizen, so the ways how I express myself are somehow weird by times, don’t bother my weirdness, lol.
The whole of Muslim religion is set upon the oppression of women, this is the main reason why they don’t progress in any field.
The whole purpose of their believe is created around the suppression of women.
They cannot respond to what I write down here because deep down, they know it’s the truth!
Some would haunt someone down for less, making dialogue not being their strongest aced either.
What I write down here sounds like hateful content, but it’s not!
I know, that's the hard part about Islam. It is such a guarded, (for lack of better word) "stuck-in-the-mud" religion that it ignores how the world has progressed and how things have changed.
Yes, women USED TO have no rights, and they USED TO be considered a bit above animals, and they USED TO not be able to do a lot of things.
We now realize that women are just as capable as men to do great things in the world.
Islam, however......
It is dangerous to write a piece stating as truth your perception of a religion you don't believe. It is safer to state what you don't understand and ask questions of those who may understand. Speak from an "I" perspective makes the blog seem less accusatory and may foster genuine conversation about your differing beliefs. And fostering conversation is REALLY progressive. Passing (or insinuating) judgment is not.

I'm not passing or insinuating judgment. It just seems that Islam is stuck in the 11th century and not entering the world we now live in: the 21st century. I find it hard when a religion's beliefs contradict how society has progressed.
We seem to share common sense in our communication which is great! Good to have you around… :-)

It is important to keep certain aspects separate form one another. I do understand the setting of your point of views.
There is not much difference between the ways of any worshipping religions in order to put their thumb upon evolution over the centuries.
Keeping people stupid by burning books which could trigger awareness, killing amazingly bright scientists which were considered a treat to their structure, their quest to enslave the whole world population throughout the spreading of intelligent doctrine and promotion of marriage to grow a bigger herd are only few examples.
We are still very ignorant in regard to what life and humans are really all about.
If one would take all of this in a wider angle, we are in fact all stuck when it boils down to evolution, regardless if some parts of the world have conquered space!
It would be in all of our interest to come to a global understanding there is an urgent need to impose human rights upon the few that control huge masses of people.
There is nothing wrong with someone living it’s life in a forest or a hut not having any other ambition but to stay in tune with it’s surroundings, but those like all other people deserve the right not to be exploited, abused, raped, tortured or indoctrinated with fear, just because few fanatics believe they are messengers of Mr. Right in the sky!
There is a need to control global birthrate!
There is a need to focus upon ALL children’s needs!
There is a need to divide natural resources welt in order to create a balance!
There is a need to deeply questions all of these governmental criminals which try to fool us all with their ridicule lies!
There is a need to sew these criminals asses for using all forms of media platforms to make you live a “reality” of nonsense!
There is a need to understand YOU are important to bring a change!
There is a need to bring forward and put in place educational programs which are informative in order for all to understand why the needs mentioned above are important for all to understand!
We have been there before! If you catch my drift…
This is a very widely held misconception. Islam itself is not a backwards religion based on primitive principles. For hundreds of years it was actually far more progressive in terms of advancement in academics and gender relations than Christianity. When it was born in the 7th century, it was the first religion that was able to unite warring tribes all over the Middle East and North Africa. The Qur'an itself and the teachings of the prophet Muhammed were very progressive for their time, especially in its treatment of women. Of course, there will always be those who like to pull more offensive lines out of the Qur'an without any textual or historical context, but the same can be done with the Bible.
As for the treatment of women in Saudi Arabia, this is not a religious phenomenon. This is cultural and political. Yes, religion is entwined in these things, but the big picture is that religion is manipulated and used to further political ideas. It is not that the politics and laws of this country are based only on religious law, although many within and outside of the country see it that way. Think about it. This same phenomenon occurs in our own country. On issues like abortion, gay marriage, and evolution taught in schools, religion is used to further arguments. That doesn't mean that Christianity in and of itself is a backwards religion, it just means that some backwards people are using it to justify their backwards belief.
In the future, try not to judge a culture and religion that you obviously have no real knowledge of.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
Any concept in which worship is the main basis inside a structure, regardless of its nature being primitive or progressive, the outcome remains the same, one of limitation and oppression!
Any form of worship is one which supports and creates a small detail called “difference” one of “good and wrong” to become a meaningful tool for those in control of masses.
Good followers maintain the power to flourish like a vicious circle around those who wish to untangle themselves when reaching out for own identity.
This mostly happens after reaching a level of knowledge which has reflected a self-image of the prison which has been created around their lives since birth!
Worship is a manmade concept created upon and around the emotion of guild, while best expressed in blind submission out of fear of reprisal in this or afterlife!
To push individuals and their personal thought of “I” to live life in a mentally pre constructed waiting room, a mental prison in which to fulfill a life sentence upon a path that has been set, grows unmistakably together with a question mark of fear and (self)hate!
Self-realization is no longer a luxury for those who pull the strings or control the minds of many only, those set up boundaries which are still very much alive are no longer an issue for those who have found potential and infinite knowledge in consciousness.
We are not our mind!
