$2.7 trillion, Yet Less Money For Medicare?

Tagged:  •    •

Bush's new '07 budget puts more money into the war fund but less into Medicare. Does that make any sense to you? It doesn't to me. To me, the war is winding down and we need less money for it. But the economy is also going down, thus leaving more people unemployed and some even in poverty. They need things like Medicare and cutting the budget for it (and I heard they're also trying to make it harder for people to be approved) isn't going to help anything. Another thing I don't understand is how could President Bush underestimate the costs of the Afghanistan/Iraq wars and the relief effort for Hurricane Katrina victims? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I wrote about a similar issue yesterday. It seems that Iraqis are more important to Bush than Americans.
