I know we all have heard of the racial slurs that came out of the mouth of Michael Richards. It uspet many and showed today's society just how much the word nig@#$ still means. It seems now the time has come for some popular black men to take a stand against the carless use of the horrible word. For so many years, you have heard famous black rappers using the N-word and nobody took offense. They just considered the word to be like if you would call them your brother.
I really have never seen a big deal about blacks calling other people the N-word, but I do see a huge problem with people using the word to describe a person of another race. Like from where I'm from, I hear a lot of peole say things like, "Hey, go tell that little nig@#$ boy he forgot his coat." Some people say it comes with the culture of people, but I say that one should try to keep with the times.
Here's a quote from the article that I read about how the famous comedian, Mooney and the Rev. Jesse Jackson are trying to control the causal usage of the N-word.
Mooney joined the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) this week in calling for a moratorium by entertainers who use the n-word, the nation's ugliest black pejorative. The proposal, spurred by Richards's racist rant last month, initiated the latest round of a long-standing debate about the term. Black people have fought over the word for years. And nonblack hip-hop and rap music lovers now ask, "If black people can use it, why can't I?"

I think alot of people dont know what it really means
I can't see why we get offended anymore because we offend each other
by calling each other the n word. So untill we can stop calling each other the n word. And stop thinking that we can use it because we are African American then we cannot get mad at someone else outside of the race if they call us the n word. I am not saying it's right to call an African American the n word because it's not. But we need to stop calling each that name. We are better than that!!!
