Over The Hillary

Hillary Clinton needs to get out of the race now. I don't consider myself a Democrat—I'm a socialist—but as a socialist, I'd much rather a Democrat in the White House than a Republican. As a citizen of the United States, I'd much rather a starkly different party in the White House than the one that has been for the past eight years. Of course, if we are realistic with ourselves, whoever the next president is will be different but not starkly so. Even so, minimal change is a step in the right direction.

Clinton cannot possibly win. The only way that she will push ahead of Barack Obama is if the superdelegates vote against the will of the Democratic electorate. Doing so would severely enrage a group of individuals who are already far more disenfranchised and far less cohesive than their major party opponents. Political scientists are already calling the 21st Century the "Red Century." The Democrats should have destroyed Bush in 2004 and they should have dealt a much bigger blow in the 2006 Congressional elections. Additionally, the Legislative Branch has never looked weaker to the Executive than now.

This is the Democrats' chance to shift the politics of the Century. That can only happen with the election of Barack Obama. More people want him, more states want him and he carries a more progressive voice for change than his opponents.

We stand in the month of April. The Republicans have long known who their candidate will be and he is running his campaign for President. In fact, he is already airing commercials for the 2008 general election. The Democrats spend day after day putting each other down, consequentially the result is detrimental effects for the Party.

Hillary Clinton cannot compare herself to Rocky because Rocky still had a chance. Hillary Clinton is more like a boxer that everyone said "you can't do it" to who then said "I can still win if I pull out a gun and shoot my opponent." She can't win the nomination with any conceivable fair practice and every day she holds that nomination from Barack Obama is not a day for progress, it is a day for Republican progress.

Mrs. Clinton seems to be forgetting that she is not her husband. Former President Clinton can squander all adversity and do the unthinkable but she is not him. This is unique to Bill Clinton, not the Clinton family. Furthermore, she hasn't even always been a Clinton.

Take off the gloves, Rocky. Don't forget: you lose in the end anyway.
