Or did she? I woke up this morning, flipped the channels to watch The View (I know I know but nothing else was on) and chocked on my cereal when Whoopi Goldberg announced that Hillary Clinton would drop out of the race when Barack Obama received the 35 delegate votes that he still needed in order to receive the Democratic nomination. I jumped, I screamed. I immediately cut on my computer and planned on logging on progressiveu to write a long "Hail Obama 2008" blog.
But before I could do any of that, Whoopi Goldberg got back on the air and retracted her statement. She said that the Associated Press had just lied and Hillary Clinton's campaign had just called the show and said that it wasn't true. Even though I was highly upset that my favored candidate had still not won the democratic seat I started to think about other things. Just when is Hillary Clinton dropping out?
I mean come one...yes I think Hillary Clinton has come farther than any other woman ever has in the election for president and if she decides to ever run again as long as she doesn't have the same campaign people I think she's pretty much got it in the bag. But as far as the 2008 election goes I think everyone can say that Hillary Clinton is not going to receive the demcratic nomination and i she seriously wants to run she should go as an indpendent candidate.
The last primary elections are today. Barack Obama is favored in both of those states. Come on! Give it up Hillary! You had a good run but next time make sure your campaign people don't make racist statements on the air and know what they're doing so you will win the presidency next time.

Why even bring up that idea? If Hillary runs as an independent there is no chance Barack will win because the Democrats will be split right down the middle again. Then we will be stuck with a war monger totalitarian and have 4 more years of Bush-like policy. That would be the absolute worst decision by any political candidate in the history of the United States.
Really her 'people' made racist statements??? I was not aware that that actually happened.
Why do you want Barack Obama be president? His people have made racist statements to..to discount H. Clinton for that is like the pot calling the kettle black.
To me they are the same... little experience, racist, Goverment nosey.
I guess she does not want to be a quitter. She still might magically win and she will keep going till she is told no.
They are both terrible choices,

I don't know if you were responding to me or the article, but I'll write back for both of us. How can you say Barack Obama is racist? If you could find me a quote that would be an example of this, that would be great. He has not said anything against whites or any other minority. The Barack Obama campaign has no Ferraros who claim that Hillary would not be in the campaign had she not been a woman, like Geraldine did against Barack. And if you want to bring up experience, that is a poor decision. John McCain sure is as old as dirt, but his only campaign platform is to fight war and keep burning up oil (look at his website). So I would take good ideas that were enacted during a short period of time (what you call inexperience) over an old man who has been surviving in the Senate based solely off of his former war glory. The only way we are going to get out of the hell-hole situation are country is in is to bring in new blood and get away from the terrible policies of the Bush-Clinton-Bush presidencies.
I never said I was for McCain. He has got his problems too.
Obama never said anything racist just like Hilary has not said anything racist, only their people have. Geraldine/ Rev. White Toe mate toe/ toe mat to. The point was that they are the same.
"They are bitter people to their gun and their religion" stated by Barack in CA when he did not know he was being taped about poor white people.
What stands of inexperience has B. Obama made...to my knowledge he usually only votes as present.
I totally agree that we need something diffrent then the Rep (Bush) -Dem (Clinton) - Rep (Bush) thing.... Maybe the new blood could come from a diffrent party.
It is never black and white

You misquoted and mistated Obama's comment about Pennsylvanians. It wasn't a black/white issue at all, so I do not know where you are getting that from. Here's the link to my short blog on it: http://progressiveu.org/102654-obama-cling-guns-and-religions-pretty-tru...

She's said that she would like to be his VP (CNN.com); However, she hasn't admitted defeat as of yet.
After the votes are in tonight, he will have hit the magical 2,118 number and then, if she's not more stubborn than we already thought, he will be the victor.

I would agree with tgunnegan that new blood would be awesome, even if it is not Barack, but Barack is the best and will unite the country in a way that many Americans have not believed would be possible. And, just for the record, no Pastor is affiliated with the Barack Obama campaign so his racist remarks do not reflect the beliefs of Barack whatsoever.
Finally, the guns and bitter remark had nothing to do with race, it had to do with socio-economic status. Just because the poor of that region happened to be white doesn't mean that Barack is a racist. But he could be and just be doing a good job covering it up.
I think Obama is going to screw up the the United States even more. He wants to drop all of our defenses!! Are you kidding me? That is the stupidest idea ever because then we will have no protection against countries that have nuclear weapons. We are screwed. I had a premonition that he will win and become president and I know it will come true. Oh well this world is shitty anyway I guess I will just watch it crumble. Sorry I am independant and Cnn has been sexist towards Hillary the whole entire time not even hardly mentioning anything about her hardly at all until she makes a mistake. Obama attended the same chruch for 20 years and he didn't listen to what Rev. Wright said? I doubt that. All politicans lie I guess anyone will be better then president Bush though he is awful..

Where are these nuclear weapons? We just spent $845 billion dollars as a government and $3 trillion as an economy to put down a government that had non-existent WMDs. If we continue this reckless streak of non-prompted wars, the economy, the government and the country will be so suceptible to attack that these non-existant WMDs could take us out. As soon as I see evidence that their are WMDs and a possiblity that they are for use against us, I will support diplomacy, and then war as a last resort. I firmly believe that war should not be a preemptive strike.
And how do you claim that CNN is sexist towards Hillary? They over-played her fake crying session like it was the most important news story in history and they bought it. They also under-played her dirty tactics as a same old politician. What are your arguments that they were sexist?
Overplaying the crying session as the most important news about Hillary was sexist. The fact that they spent so much time examining it was sexist. Examining her emotionality, whether its genuine or not, is not something they ever did with male candidates.

Colorado November Ballot Measure to Legally Define a Fertilized Egg as a Person
The government hides alot from its citizens. There are weapons that they don't want us to know about. Research it if you want. I have dug deep into things and found astonishing things. I agree about war. I don't support it, but if we take away all of our defenses then we are just putting up a sign saying "attack us we are unarmed." Other countries have weapons but our government just doesn't want to scare us.
Everytime I watched CNN they never mention Hillary unless she did something wrong. Even in the beginning they would mention she has no chance. This outraged me because she should have been mention more the things they did. Even though women get more respect now they still aren't given the same respect as men. Even if I wasn't for Hillary I believe this and it is true. I have read articles about how women still get paid less. CNN was being really sexiest some of the guys even laughed when they mentioned her. It was disrespectful. Obama has similar plans but there is something off about him that I can't figure out.
I appreciate you having an intellectual debate with me. Most people like to attack what I have to say because they are ignorant and I appreciate you being mature about it. Thanks so much :) we can keep debating if you like...

I guess you could be right about the CNN being sexist situation, but I'm not sure about it. I, not being a woman or a sexist, have not really been searching for it and it could be there.
And you are also correct that the government does hide stuff from its people at time (Area 51?), but this wasn't the government. The United Nations Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMVIC) inspected Iraq and found nothing capable of world destruction. All they found was some mustard gas and empty rocket cylinders, hardly enough to ship to Cuba and bomb the United States.
I agree that I love debating with you. It is a good way to know how you feel about things, and you've brought to light a lot of new aspects of things for me (as I hope I did for you). Thanks

You don't insult my intelligence which I find great. I can't debate with people who insult my intelligence because they make themselves look like idiots. Also I feel like I am being attacked and I not big for confrontation unless the person is not totally close minded. You can't agrue with a closed minded person. you have brought things to light and I thank you as well.
I know that they found no weapons in iraq. I should be more clear when I comment. Other countries that don't seem like threats right now have nuclear weapons. I worry that if we drop defenses then those countries may feel the time would be appropriate to attack. Russia has nuclear weapons BIG TIME. we have actually worked with Russia to develop better ones. We always go after the countries that don't have weapons or have moved them quickly when soot out. It is the countries that have them I worry about.
I also wasn't looking for sexism on CNN but I watched it for about a week straight (which is odd for me I hate politics, but this election was different) and they didn't mention her at all. They actually are one sided on many issues I noticed.
Area 51, Tuskgee (spelling error) experiment, J F. K, Marilyn Monroe, Nafta. I could go on forever I am a huge conspiracy theorist. I detest the government greatly. People never believe me, but I know I'm right. That sounds conceded but I just have a feeling. I have researched it for years and have found military official statements and people who used to work for the government that confirm my beliefs. Not one statement but many. Still people think they can rest easy.

Where did you hear that?

It was either in the paper on online. I also heard him talk about it in a speech. It is a dumb idea, but hey everyone thinks he's charming right? That is what matters....lol.

The crying situation is sexist maybe...but in the opposite direction. Hillary was over-using the gender card and playing on the fact that she was a woman. Had Barack or John McCain fake cried about voters in New Hampshire (I think that's where it was), there is no way that they would be alive in the race today.
i was hoping that Hillary would win beacasue she is of courese the best choice and i think she din't win because of our government which wll not benefit from this. Why well Hillary is the type of person to favoe the poor and help out the people in the country, not the government!
You honestly think that Hillary would help out the poor? Hillary puts on this facade for the world that she really cares about the poor when she is loaded, but doesn't do anything helpful with the money. Her husband wastes the money on extravagant trips to pointless places with his entourage (see Todd Purdum's article in Vanity Fair). If she was really for the poor, she'd get Bill to not be so wasteful and do something with her money. Although she isn't as wasteful as her husband, she would be just as bad if she didn't have a Senate seat and a former-campaign to run.
What kind of policy did Hillary promise that would have helped out the poor any more than Barack is going to when he is President?
