My Journalism teacher is a pyschopath pt. II

Honestly, the things I spoke about in the last blog aren't really the worst part. I'll tell you about THOSE.

Two kids have dropped out of the class, one just two weeks ago. Normally, this far into the year, it's very unorthodox to switch to a new class, but I knew that he had had it up to here.

The first girl dropepd out because of a severe lack of sensitivity on my teacher's part. You might want to read the blog about my school making CNN news to understand what was going on. However, long story short, this girl was at the protest because she was good friends with the boy that died (one of the honest mourners). My teacher was apparently out there making sure no one did something stupid. The girl was crying, holding a friend's head on her shoulder while he cried too, and my teacher actually came up to her and said - while she was crying! - "You need to be thinking about how you're going to cover this for Eagle News."

I seriously couldn't believe my ears when I frist heard this. I know Mrs. Brown's crazy, unintelligent, and incompetent, but to say something so rude to someone while they were crying over the death of a friend was incredibly rude, and lacking tact. The girl dropped out a few days later, unable to forgive the teacher.

The second drop out was because he was sick of never doing anything well enough. He's one of what you could call the "AV guys", so he was always helping out with the technological aspects of the broadcast. He was a heck of a lot more dedicated than I was, at any rate. He stayed after almost every week to help put things together, and was in the broadcast room every Friday morning. He was a great video editor, and along with me, we pretty much put most of the videos together, However, she was always getting on our backs about adding things after a video was already finished, or changing things that we thought were great - which is odd because since we are the target audience, we should have the top opinion about what students WANT to see - he started to get really irritated. After we had to stay after class one day so she could lecture us on the amount of tension between us and her, he stormed out of the room furious. That was unusual, because although he is not really a goofy guy, he usually blows things off and doesn't take much seriously. He was later taken aside and he explained to her that we were both really stressed because of a big, mandatory senior project that had to be finished the next week. She said that she didn't want to stress us out more, but the next week, she was right back at it. A few days later, he dropped the class too.

More in the next blog! (Part III!)
