What can we do?

As of late we have of course all heard about global warming. And you might say, "Global warming? Yea, talk to me about global warming when it stops snowing!" It may not be happening as fast or as noticeably as its been hyped up to be, but it's still around. It's like that tiny little gnat buzzing around your head. You notice it and don't really care at first, but when it continues to fly into your eye you just want to take the biggest piece of wood you can find and smash it as hard as humanly possible. If we don't take notice of all the harmful things we are putting into the environment its not going to be a little gnat anymore. It's going to turn into a King Kong! "Well what can I do?" you might say, "I'm only one person! You can expect me to hold the world on my shoulders!" No, but we all make up one big picture. Like pieces of a puzzle we make the world what it is. Let's say for instance one person decided to not use anymore plastic bags at the grocery store. Then that person told two people and they told two people more and it continues until hopefully in the future we will have no more plastic bags. By just using alternative methods of holding our groceries we can help improve planet. We all know that plastic don't biodegrade but it does break down. It breaks down into smaller particles that infect the planets soil and water! We are putting the planet at risk with our use of plastic. Is it really that hard to find some cloth bags that you have around the house or bring a box with you to the grocery store that you can reuse? PLUS reusable bags hold much more and don't break. So, do the planet a favor, get rid of those bags and make a difference.

It's like when you email a funny story to everyone on your email address list. If people like it (or they really like you enough to forward the story) that same email expands EXPONENTIALLY.

I.E.: Spend the $.99-$1.50 for each of your family members and friends and encourage them to use the reusable grocery bags. Then encourage them to do the same thing. Over a period of time, you will eventually create a trend and demand for this highly beneficial product for the environment. All it takes is a single person to start the chain of events. Like dropping a pebble in a lake & watching the rings grow.

I agree! This applies to not only global warming, but to many other problems in our world also. If people quit complaining that they couldn't change something on their own and simply tried making a difference with a group of people, our world would truly be a much better place.

It's amazingly simple to recycle. Takes me about ten minutes a week, and I recycle stuff for a household of four college students.
