Defining Success...

How do you define the word success? Connotative and Denotative..how do you define success? You could give the obvious definition in a simple sentence, but explaining your own personal definition would be a little bit more difficult.

The success stories of some people revolve around the "rise to fame and show them" method. Fame does not necessarily mean literal fame in this method so much as it means just showing anyone that looks down on you that you rose to a position of prestige. Even if it's a small measure of prestige in a real sense, it means the world to the person that attained it. I enjoy this method a lot because of the hard work it involves. It's not my personal story, but it is to many others.

There's the All-American hard worker story too. Let me rephrase that because this is also basically the American Dream. Thousands of examples of this exist throughout the history of the United States of America.

Personally, I cannot define my own success story if it exists or if its even in progress. I have my own literal definition of success, but many others wouldn't agree with me because they have their own definition. I'll refrain from revealing my ideas for a little bit.

So, what I'm basically asking is how you yourself define success in a literal and deeper-meaning way.

success to me is at the end of the day being content and satisfied with who you are and what your doing.

Success is self definition. I define it as achieving a goal, but more of what I am putting in to it. One can achieve a goal, but how they get there defines success. Hard work, determination...just simply sweat and time. That would be my personal definition of success.
Your turn.
