I haven't quite graduated from high school yet, but I'm glad that I'll be getting an opportunity to take an actual college class, with a college professor! (AP's don't count.) Since my small private school doesn't have any math courses beyond the AP Calc AB course, I had resigned my math skillz to lazy stagnation. Luckily, there is a college close to my high school which has an awesome promotional program! For every student who either lives in or goes to school in Elmhurst, (my case being the latter) Elmhurst College will allow 8 total credit-hours of free college classes during their high school career! Sa-weet! This now means that I can take one of my (many) study halls and drive over to this place to take the next level math course! Unfortunately, my schedule dictates that I'll only be able to do this for one semester, so I'll only be using 4 credit-hours, but this is still pretty cool! A whole lotta people take AP courses, but how many high schoolers get the chance to take a REAL college course in a REAL college setting?
I just got my online account information from this place so I can get all my assignments online and such, and I've also joined the college network on Facebook. I think people will look twice, heehee!
I just hope that I can work hard at this and get the all-important good grade, because this'll be an awesome experience and I don't want it to be spoiled. More colleges should do this type of thing, in my opinion. Even though I am definitely NOT going to Elmhurst College (Freakin' EXPENSIVE), at least they have my utmost respect for helping many kids flesh out their college applications!

That's awesome!
My brother did something like that. Most seniors at his high school only need like 2 or 3 more classes to graduate so seniors just get out of school early every day rather than have to go to a study hall (unless they still need to take additional courses). But the local community college worked something out to where, if seniors wanted, they could use the rest of the school day to take some classes. I think my brother took a math and a history class, and Brigham Young offers language credits through a correspondence course so he also took German through the mail (which maybe is something you could think of doing?).
That is great you're able to take the math classes you want! :-)

I live near a large, state university, so a lot of seniors, even some juniors, take some college courses, and I think they might even be free to them. I really wish I had done that, as I am sure a college level business law course would have been much more interesting than the one I took at high school. It is also a good way to challenge yourself and experience new things.

The college near us has the same program (I live in Southern Florida). It's a great way to get some college courses on your record and show that you went "the extra mile" that colleges are looking for. I hope you enjoy your class!!

In my home state they have this program called PSEO (post secondary enrollment option) where if you go to public school and meet the requirements you can enroll in colleges classes and your school district foots the bill. I think it's a much better experience than AP classes (I was grateful for some AP classes I took but others were a bit of a waste). The problem in my hometown is that the nearest college that does this is like 40 minutes away. But I would still tell anyone, if you can do the minimum college prep for your school and then do PSEO. That's awesome that you're doing this. With all the adjustments you'll make it'll be nice to have your foot in the door.
I did the college courses in high school and didn't even bother with the AP. It paid off, because I was ahead of everyone else. If you want to take advantage of the other 4 hours without doing night classes, maybe you should consider online or intersession classes. You could take a course during the time between winter break and the spring semester for full credit.
