Cutting the Funding

Recently, my state governor announced that there was going to be a big budget cut which would cut many funding including educatioin. I attend the State University so most of our school's funding comes from the government. With the budget cut, our tuition will rise 8%. To some, 8% many not seem much but it is a lot to the students and also the parents who pay for them. Education is important for the growth of our future. We, students, are getting education to be able to run the government, heal people, find cures, build things and more. With the funding cutting almost $100 million dollars just from education, students are losing so much. Government should know the importance of education and support the students in best way possible.

I agree with you. Education is the key factor in building a better future, and government should support it with all the efforts. But in the same time, we can't ask the government to cut funds on health, or on transportation, for example, because they are also important. I am sure the state tried to find a middle solution, and this 8% increase is all they could do. Can we blame them?

I don't get why they cut education; isn't that more important than NASA or the military?

i agree education is being a burden to many students. the money it costs to attend a college is overwhelming for many. Budget cuts have become an enemie to students. More and More aids are being cut down making new obstacles for students to face. Not only do they face getting away from home, and creating their own life but students are having to face the problem of having to give up a lot of money to receive an education. US economy should be arranged so that the money that is out there get across to students since the money does exist but our economy uses it on other things.
