I have recently read that many many penguins along the south american coast lines have been dying. this is due to the oil companies who used tankers that go across this area where they have their wintering grounds. They are both water and land animals and they need to look for food under the water. The oil in the tankers are spilling over and it is just dangerous becuase it is both affecting the fish and the penguin community. They don't need to eat as much when they are mating but when they have their young they need to have as much food for them and the baby. We are also endangering their habitant due to ice caps melting. They are also being so cold and having so many blizzards they it is freezing them as well.
