NASA Scientists Predict A Period Of Global........Cooling???!!!

According to NASA scientists, the greatest influence on climate change isn't human activity. It turns out that solar activity has the greatest impact on our climate. The Space & Science Research Center (SSRC) recently posted an article on spaceandscience.net that states a period of global cooling will be taking place in the coming years. I've attached the weblink to the article here (http://www.spaceandscience.net/id16.html). In a nutshell, the sun isn't generating as many sunspots, which have a tremendous impact on our planet. As a result of there being fewer sunspots, the Earth will begin to cool. Also, these periods of warming & cooling have long been a part of the Earth's history, even before man came into being.

What's most interesting is how we haven't heard about this in the media. I guess they're caught up in the new, acceptable religion known as global warming. Which I guess makes Al Gore our new lord & savior. I wonder if I'll be charged with heresy for writing this. I also wonder how the news media of today would have covered the end of the last ice age 10,000 years ago. They probably would have given us headlines like this: "IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!"

So don't be so quick to stock up on bikinis, suntan lotion & beach towels in preparation for global warming. You may need to stock up on winter parkas, snowshoes & anti-freeze instead.

Just the hype that it is the biggest, or only factor.

Prediction of solar activity is not exactly accurate either.

And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

Surprise, surprise...

It's about time for that, if you think about it. We've had what? about ten years or so of the "global warming" crap, and before that it was about a decade of "global cooling" crap? Sounds about right then.

While I don't doubt that humans have some impact on the environment, it's going to cycle through this stuff regardless of our existence.

The funniest thing about the global warming crowd is that they rarely take into account that the earth is still coming out of the last ice age.

But I guess when you have a former politician telling you "the line goes up" it's cause to pee your pants.

A decreased use of fossil fuels is certainly not evil, as Al Gore is apparently characterized. Petroleum based fuels certainly do cause pollution.
Global warming is a logical theory about human activities and the effect on the environment.
This global cooling idea appears to be not related to human activity.
They seem to be mostly unrelated in this regard.
This should not distract people from our dependence on fossil fuels and the negative effects.

Al Gore is an idiot, in my opinion. He bases his argument on evidence that has sense been proven false and then goes on to win almost every award in existance. Fuck Al Gore.

And it's not just human existance that has caused a global climate shift. It's the natural fluctuations of the planet AND human existance. All planets go through periods of warming and cooling.

And I still say that you can't take measurements above a volcano nor can you trust measurements from 100 years ago.

are you trying to say that society should not concern itself with decreasing the use of fossil fuels?
Is the theory that increased greenhouses gases in the atmosphere, caused by massive use of petroleum based fuels, could gradually increase the planets average temperatures entirely incorrect or illogical?
Are the activities endorsed by Al Gore and others; decreasing the use of fossil fuels, cleaner engines, alternative fuels, etc, goals that we should not be striving for?
These are more important questions than whether Al Gore is right.

Go for a slower solution, not an immediate one. Yes, it is illogical because their data collecting methods are flawed. Fuck Al Gore.

what does a picture of al gore's desk have to do with logic.
less trees, more carbon dioxide equals more atmospheric insulation and emission of heat.
scientific theory that has nothing to do with al gore.
it is unclear how significant the effects could be, but preventive actions are justified.

You fail to see the importance, but I say you fail to see. You see, my blind friend, Al Gore is running 3 computers, a TV, and all the lights. His desk is also cluttered with tons of paper. Al Gore claims to be for saving the environment, but we obviously see that he doesn't care.

I'll explain in greater depth later. I've got an essay to write about Roman Arches.

the arches here in rome look pretty strong. colosseo is still standing

i do not really need an in depth discussion on the legitimacy of al gore's nobel prize.

I think the whole bit about Global warming is a load of shit. That's what you're going to get.

Could this mean that, despite the enviro-weenies' rantings, that man doesn't control the environment as though we live in the Star Trek age?

When I was a baby, we were coming out of the hype of Global Cooling, in which man's actions and industry's actions were causing the earth to cool and we were all going to die in an ice age.

now, we hear people saying that because of man's actions and industry's actions, the earth was warming and we were all going to die from it.

Maybe, just maybe, they are all pinheads who just want to be popular to get all the grants.

Unheard of, in science, to say something for the hope of getting grants, right?

(that last question was sarcastic and rhetorical)

Lance, did we just agree that Global Warming is a load of shit!? Wow...Apocalypse time now, He he...?

Nah, just goes to show that sometimes the truth is just THAT evident.

Those are times that people have to knowingly ignore it, akin to holding hands over their ears and screaming "LALALALALALALA I can't hear you LALALALALALALALALA."

I live in Wyoming and it is cold up here! I LOVED global warming! I never could understand the argument that it was anything but good. The earth is biologically far more productive during its warm periods. Far more people die from cold than heat.

Who are we to declare that the climate we have suffered with for the past 100 years was optimum?

It has always been obvious that global warming was a bunch of hooey. But for many people across the world, it has little to do with science and everything to do with a religion. They won't believe its not true no matter what the evidence because it is a matter of faith. It will take years to reverse the damage that has been done by the likes of algore.

The big mistake here has been the natural human inclination to extrapolate the experience of a lifetime to data that can only be understood in geological time. The two milleniums since the birth of Christ are only and eyeblink in geological time. Yet people have been claiming that the sky was falling because we had a warm decade.

I think alot of it has to do with people wanting to 'stick it' to President Bush (and us evil stupid redstaters who voted for him) by supporting this inane theory of man-made global warming as put out by Al Gore (who they view as a victim of election fraud)

They get very militant about this and love to push the idea that Gore won the popular vote, as though it somehow matters, given the way that we elect presidents in the United States.

I think any 'worldwide' support is more of an affront to the President than support of Gore.... as was his winning of the Nobel Prize. (but, let's face it.... other prize winners include a horrible doofus of a president named Carter and a terrorist named Arafat. Noted nominees include Hitler and Stalin.)

Every nonpolitical scientist has been saying this for awhile. Its only been Gore's high paid politically biased scientists who get published because I assume Gore can pay for them to get published higher. It goes to show you that global warming is a natural cycle and that Al Gore is like we've all concluded, indeed full of shit and in league with John Edwards.

Anyone care to play the conspiracy theory game with me over this?
