China’s president just said he would double aid to Africa after he had a meeting with many African leaders. China will double direct aid to African countries from its 2006 level by 2009. China will train 15,000 African professionals, build schools, hospitals and anti-malaria clinics and send agriculture experts and youth volunteers to Africa. China will also double the number of scholarships given to African students to 4,000 by 2009. These are very progressive thing China is doing and they are doing it in a place were there is the most need in the world.
I have heard next to nothing coming from our government about helping African people. I have heard a lot about "helping" Iraqis but obviously if we wanted to help people in the world we would start where there is the most need, Africa. It seems as China's economy is growing they are also taking the right steps socially, aiding Africa. This should be a wake up call to americans. The commies are even aiding Africa ( I have nothing against commies but looking intot he american past it seems most americans do) why arn't we?
If we had spent a thousandth of what we spent on Iraq in Africa we could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives. Think about it.
China is advancing in every way possible. More technological advances, as well as societal. China is ahead, far far ahead of us.

I don't know if they are ahead of us now but they will be shortly. The problem is there is not even a reaction from our government as China passes us by.
No they are never aware of this. They are more worried about Iraq and Iran and more countries they can take over.

Yes unfortunately this that interest with taking over countries is what will lead to our downfall and if the US crashes it will crash very very hard.
The fact that China is passing us economically is not what we should worry about. I agree U.S. foregin policy is crap but to think that China is going to Africa to help those people is dangerous. China is a a police state that censors their internet and murders prisoners to harvest their organs for profit. Please do not think that China is in Africa to help those poor people. Enslave them maybe? In my opinion China is trying to spread it's economic markets. Once they establish all the industries to make Africa a modernized nation they will control them just like Mayer Rothschild said, "Give me control over a nations currency and I care not who makes the laws." The real scary part is that America's leaders like what China is doing and consider them and ideal model. I do not claim that our government is compassionate to human rights, I just feel they can't get away with some of these things like China can. I would like to see Africa receive help, genuine help rather than a wolf disguised in sheeps clothing.

We have the same kind of things is our past... Spanish American war, lineing up Portugese prisoners on bridges and shooting them. just becase they did it in the past does not mean they cannot change and if it does that means we are just as bad as they are.
China seems to be out setting up programs in Africa (I'm quite passionate about the issues in Africa by the way) while America buries itself deeper and deeper in debt...and to who? Hmmm. The American government is consenting to let itself to be passed up by China.

Unfortunately it seems all this traces back to people wanting to make money. People are not informed because the media has not informed them and the media has not informed them because they figure that other less important but probably more graphic news story will make them more money. there used to be a time where new was about reporting the stories that mattered.
You also have to keep in mind that these news shows are owned by somebody, and the news that they think are most effective, are the ones aired on TV.

he has been very competent regarding africa. bono has called him the best american president for africa. under him, we've given millions to african countries. it's certainly not enough to fix all of the issues there, but we are doing something. check out this link:

This aid has little to do with charity or progressivism and a lot to do with economic colonialism. China has very few natural resources and is consuming what it does have very rapidly in a desparate effort to keep their population employed rather than rebelling.
China needs natural resources from Africa and is using aid to grease the skids. We do the same thing because it is good business.
The notion that China is more progressive then the United States is pure nonsense. They are brutally repressive to their own people and they are none to nice to their neighbors. Ask the Dalai Lama!
