The NFDA has admitted to a preneed trust problem. Low cost funerals sold as preneed are often false. Funeral Cost from the Funeral director often cannot be trusted. This from the National Funeral Directors association.
According to Christine Pepper CEO of the National Funeral Directors Association.
"Consumers view everyone involved in funeral directors,cremationists and third party sellers as part of the same profession." in the real world however they are not apart of the same profession and are distinctly seperate.
In effect the National Funeral Directors Association distanced itself from the "IFDA Preneed Trust" situation and their taking of Funeral Cost Money from the citizens of the State of Illinois to the tune of 40 Million Dollars. Indeed the Director Magazine ( Magazine of the NFDA) Cover for March says "Preneed Fix it Now or pay Later" The NFDA has acknowledged
that preneed needs to fixed but refused to name the IFDA or the IFDA preneed trust.
There is a double standard with the NFDA. They say they are against preneed corruption
but continue preneed classes around the country without requiring ethics from their clients.

These include State Senator Randall Hultgren of Hultgren Funeral Home and State Representative Dan Brady of Bloomington, IL.
