I Miss Our Troops

I woke up this morning missing my friends in Iraq....just thought I would share that...Anyway Alvin (one of my friends) got sent there just recently, his son is almost one. We practically grew up together and I never thougth that he would join the military...Im so proud of our troops fighting for our country but its hard to not want them to end the war now and bring everyone back...the guy I'm dating just came back from Iraq and when we talk about it he gets that dazed look on his face....he's hurt, I'm just happy he's alive...I can't imagine losing someone close and dear to my heart through war....My heart goes out to those who have lost someone overseas in the fighting...I see the banners of men and women in our cities supporting our troops and I just feel sad, thats someone's daughter, sister, mother or brother, father, or husband. I get worried I mean Alvin is there in Iraq and I'm just waiting for that dreaded call...I know I shouldn't think that way but most of the men in my family are in the service and when their gone you pray for them, but at the same time you check the messages praying that its not them telling you your loved one was killed....The death toll of Iraq reached 40,000?I support our troops but I just dont see progress in this war...Neither does the guy I'm dating...and HE WAS THERE FIGHTING! I know the war is a touchy subject for people, everything is now a days. Tell me what you think I want to know what other people feel about the war.

I have family there, too. They believe in the cause they are fighting for and believe we are making a difference. My uncle's tank was struck and he saw his best friend blown to smithereens and he still supports what's going on. I have no problem telling those against the war to shut, because they can't talk unless they've been there and done that.
