Gods word

I have read many blogs dealing with religion and homosexuality and quite frankly it sickens me. I have heard so many people say that you cannot have a homosexual Christian. This is such a ridiculous statement because what they are saying is that there is no room for any imperfection in the church. It is saying if you have done a single thing that the Bible says is wrong then there is no room for you in the Church. What a hypocritical statement since we are all sinners and everyone of us does things that the bible forbids. For instance how many passages are against becoming overly wealthy, yet we strive so hard to become rich to have it all. It is an abomination to eat shellfish, but how many of us eat shrimp or lobster. Does that mean that we cannot inherit the kingdom of God. I certainly don’t think so. Who are we to deny Gods love to anyone? Who are we to tell people they will not inherit the kingdom of God when its not our call. I think the bible was written as a basis of morals to live by not as a rule book. God wants us to love one another and to love him. He gives us our own free will and it is up to us to decide how to live our lives. God doesn’t expect us to be perfect, he wants us to be good people. Just because it says homosexuality is wrong in the bible, doesn’t mean that you cannot be homosexual and a good person. I just think its time to stop discriminating against people because God loves all his children. What is he going to say when he comes back and we are driving people away from his love?

It is one hundred per cent true that you can have sinned homosexually and be a Christian. ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. One thing I have to correct is where you say that the Bible tells us not to judge. That is untrue. The Bible tells us to judge and judge fairly. The warning is not about judging, but being a hypocrite. This passage is often misquoted.

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. Mk. 4.24
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Another example is John 7:24, where Jesus actually tells us to make judgements.

21 Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all marvel. 22 Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. 23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? 24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

Judge with righteous judgement. What is righteous judgement? Not judging by appearances. Look to the heart of the matter. That is how we are to judge.

Thank you for your insight. :)
