Obama has made his choice, we now know who his VP will be, and the winner is Joe Biden. For those of you out there who did not know this please go here. I would like to congratulate Obama on his fast reaction and timely decision making on this one. I think he has actually made a good choice (there is a first time for everything). Biden is everything Obama is not. Biden is experienced, has supported non-party ideas, and has foreign policy knowledge. Though Obama and Biden have hade their disagreements, like last year while both were running of the nomination from their party and later when Biden made this statement “I would be "honored" to run with McCain,” They have come together. I am glad they have move past that.
Now many people have said that Obama would lose the race for the white house if he chooses anyone other then Clinton but I think Obama made the right choice. By not giving into his party demands, to give the VP slot to Clinton, he has shown that he can think for himself and has great promise. I am now a little less worried that Obama will be the worst president in U.S. history and be more disliked then Jimmy Carter or Herbert Hoover. I still will not vote for him. I still think that he is not what this country needs right now but I am glad he made a good choice. Now I wait and see who McCain will vote for, I hope he makes a good choice as well.
What do you think did Obama make a good choice or a bad one? Do you think Obama should have chosen Hilary? Do you think it is too little to late? I still hope and pray that Obama loses but I no longer despise him.. Where do you stand I would like to know?

Really, I think the only thing Hilary could have brought to Obama's campaign is more voters. And that is a really dumb reason to pick a VP. If he had picked her, I'd probably still vote for him, but I'd feel bad about it after.
I was hoping for Wes Clark, but that's ok. I'll take Biden. I'm a little heart-broken (not really) that I didn't get a text message though, since it leaked to the media first. I actually found out his running mate by reading your blog... :-P

I am so sorry to hear that you did not get a text first. If you do not mind I are you going to vote for Obama.

Really, I wasn't heart broken over it. :-P
In a nutshell, my priority issues for this election are health care, education, and women's health... I find myself liking his ideas and goals for these issues a lot.

I know that many people think that a national heath care system is a good idea there are a few problems with it. First all medical people will be paid by the government which means they will get paid less. Second the government will be in charge of the medical world and the last thing you want is for health care to get a pay cut or to start to cut corners to save money. Third what would health care not cover that you will have to pay out of pocket for as far as I know he has not talked about it that well.
On the Education topic i dislike owning people anything most of all my time. Under the education system you will have to work for the government for some length of time. I am also sure that they will not pay for everyone to go to Harvard.
The reason i am not voting for him because I want less government control in my life not more. That would be the main point there are others.

While Biden was running for the presidential nomination last year (against Obama) he called him inexperienced. Did he change his mind, then?
Biden is probably a good choice for Obama, though. Hillary has way too much political baggage. If he had chosen her, he would have gotten many of her supporters' votes back, but could have infuriated some of his own.
Thanks to Biden, McCain's charge that Obama has no experience will have less effect in the election now. Biden is nearly as old and experienced in foreign policy as McCain.
I think McCain will choose Romney as his VP, though I'd rather him not. I'm a Huckabee fan, but Romney, whose strongest area is the economy, would really help to give McCain economic credibility the same way Biden will lend Obama foreign policy credibility.
Hilary could have caused more problems then solved due to the fact that she is a new senator as well. I still think Obama made a good choice.
I hope that McCain chooses either Huckabee or Romney. I have also heard Giuliani. I am not to sure if that would be a good match up. I know that he did good things in NY but I really want Romney. I would have preferred to have Romney running for president but i can live with him as VP.

He needs Hillary's voters. She has almost no experience, but she will make him look less old.

I was kind of hoping for Richardson. I just like him. In a way I don't think Biden is big enough. And while that shouldn't matter, it does. However, it does make sense that he picked him seeing as he's from PA, which seems to be a big deal this time around.

I think Hillary and Obama would have killed each other. This actually still does not change my view of Obama. I just can't stand him. Although I believe this makes him look better, it doesn't change my opinion of his policies. Yes he has similar views like Hillary, but they were very different. I don't know how to explain it.
I have a feeling Obama will win, and it is a very deep feeling. I do not want this, but I guess disaster zone is coming soon. Sorry about that I just can't help myself.
I think we would have been better off if Bush was not elected. Also to set the record straight the new statistics are saying Bush is less favored than hoover or equal in dislike. lol. Read the signature below: lol
Sorry to disappoint you, but I am voting for Lewis Black.

I can hope that Obama does not win. Also remember that Congress has very low approval rating. I will have to look up and see what the number is but this is a bad year for the government as a whole no one is happy with what any of them have done.

Of the three branches of the federal government, congress almost always has the lowest approval rating.

You have a great point..so true.

I have heard that it is because they seem to be doing the most bickering and getting the least done. Strange that this gets them such low approval since that is what Congress was designed to do.

Congress is meant to debate and compromise, not bicker. Thanks to the bipartisanship of the 110th Congress, our representatives have managed to pass fewer public laws than any other Congress in the past twenty years. They can no longer function properly, and deserve the 9% approval rating they have.
Yes congress deserve the 9%. I know that i am far from happy with them

In Philly the day before the election. The man knows how to move a crowd. He'll be interesting to watch over the next four years.
