Book Authors and blogs

I am sure everyone has either read the books by Rowling on Harry Potter. Some of us have seen the movie. We are well versed in fair use here. What is concerning me is the lawsuit in court about to be decided.
JK rowling gave support to his website. She had even given an award to the Harry Potter Lexicon as so far as it being online. The trouble is simple. Once the blog was put to print then all heck broke loose.
There are people against this lawsuit. The premise is worrysome. It could mean no one could publish a book about her works without going to her first. You look at other novels out there. There are tons of books on books. You look at other authors. There are books on books out there.
WSJ and NYT both do not like the lawsuit. THe fair use doctorine. What is to stop someone from suing other bloggers if this is allowed to pass. It smacks against free speech. She was fine with it but once it became totally published then it was dilluting her copyrights.
Rowling can not have it both ways. You have to think of that aspect.
