This "Global warming hypothesis" (yes hypothesis, it is not yet been proven thanks) has cost us billions of our dollars; denied third world countries a chance to develop because of Industrialized nations setting restrictions on how electricity is generated. This is no longer a scientific agenda but more of a political ideology. Anyone who disagrees with the current hypothesis is ridiculed and labeled a "heretic" so to speak, this includes other scientists (thousands!). That is not the scientific way!!! Even people in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change disagree but the media says otherwise. Most of the time I tend to go against the grain; When the media and my teachers shoved the global warming hypothesis in my face, I refused to accept it.
Most importantly, however, is that global Warming has created an industry based on an unproven theory. My friends are currently dependent on the "Global Warming Phenomena" for a chance to be able to have a job. They are currently enrolled in the University of Houston majoring in climatology. You are misusing the word theory. It has a different meaning when used in Science. Gravity is a theory. The Heliocentric solar system is a theory. I believe that most scietists agree that global warming is, at the very least, made worse by human activites, but I'm not positive.

Thanks for correcting, much appreciated! I hope hypothesis is a more accurate word to use.
I was reffering to the letter that you accidently posted, but I think that Hypothesis is the word that you are looking for. As for global warming, I do believe that it is happening. Why, becuase it makes sense. We know, basically, what the atmosphere of Venus is like. We know what that does to the surface of the planet. We are releasing the same gasses into our own atmosphere.

I completely forgot to add that I do believe in Global warming is just that I do not believe that the CO2 is creating it. It is just a phase the earth is going through much like an Ice Age but only that the climate is warmer. Maybe looking for other planets for an example of global warming might be a little trickier than expected; did you know that the polar ice caps on Mars are melting? I do not think that there is a large quantities of CO2 in Mars's atmosphere to cause this, if the current Global Warming Hypothesis was in fact correct.
I believe that part of it is natural, but we have added to it and are making it much worse.

If Al Gore and the rest of the Global Warming Brigade actually believed what they said about Global Warming, he wouldn't fly around on a giant fuel-guzzling jet and live in a home that uses more power in 1 month than most homes use in a year.
He'd live in an energy-efficient home making use of solar power and geo-thermal heat. he'd telecommute for conferences across the country rather than burn the dozens of gallons of fuel for a state to state hop... not to mention all of the fuel burned by his series of limos and GIANT SUVs that he and his entourage take from the airport to the conference.
If he really believed in this man-made global warming, he'd live like it.
(By the way, glaciers on Mars have been disappearing for 4 summers or so. Either the Mars Rover has caused global warming on Mars, or the temperature issue is bigger than the car I drive and the pipe tobacco I burn.)
