Step 6:Get your casket or urn from a third party. The best is place is on the internet. You get the casket and the urn for much less
Step 7: DO NOT Purchase a funeral package anywhere. Funeral Packages raise your funeral cost 99% of the time.
Step 8: Do not Purchase funeral goods or services in advance. This opens yourself up to theft and Funeral Scam. The AARP says do not do these in advance purchases
Step 9: Thou shall not purchase funeral goods or service while under emotional distress. This is often the funeral scenario. People make purchases while in the shock phase of loss(losing a loved one) then they get very angry afterward.
Step10: Write the funeral details down in advance and tell friends relatives where to locate the papers. FDR didn't do this and his wishes were not carried out! They found the instructions after the funeral.
Step 11: Stay in Charge of your family's funerals. Do not transfer power to the funeral director or prepaid funeral Salesman.
Step 12: Negotiate. Follow the principles of good negotiation. A funeral is a contract negotiation. Negotiate, protecting your interest(s) and your money.
