A mother was running around in field to find her missing child in a certain time of distress, she would embrace and kiss any child she came across and then moved on. Finally, she found her own child; she hugged the child and sat down with child at full peace.
The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) observed that Allah is pleased more than this when His servant strives to attain His closeness and do good.
Fasting month of Ramadan brings opportunity to get closeness of God. Ramadan is prescribed to enhance righteousness and spirituality. It brings refuge of God from evils and acceptance of prayers. The traveler and the sick should not fast and are commanded to fulfil the fasts when are capable. (2:184-7)
Fasting is a shield, as said by blessed Holy Prophet. Allah told him that Allah Himself is the reward of fasting.
When one makes fasting one’s shield then Allah protects that person by enabling him/her to avoid all sins and do good, explains Caliph of Promised Refomer (w.alislam.org) . To have such protection one’s ear, tongue, eyes, hands and all other limbs must fulfill the requirements of fasting.
Self checks against forbiddens act as shield, such as men and women restrain their eyes; avoid verbal aggression by saying: I am fasting; hands donot do anything wrong even it would not serve anything which is prohibited for eating. During fasting, believers also has to avoid some permissible features to get discipline and pleasure of God ---- If a believer does not keep fast with all its conditions then Allah has no need anyone to go hungry, says blessed Holy Prophet.
Spiritual training in Ramadan is to continue give benefits after Ramadan. Recitation and practicing Quran in Ramadan is vital part of this training.
In the verses about Ramadan, at one place Allah says:
And when My servant ask thee about Me, (say) I am near. I answer the Prayer of the supplicant when he prays to Me. So they should hearken to Me and believe in Me, that they may follow the right way. (2:187) ----- Striving in Ramadan brings God closer hence He Himself becomes the reward. Sincere cry brings answer which brings more spiritual growth.
Blesssed days of Ramadan are the opportunity to remove veil and partition between human and God in spiritual sense. Then continuous Prayers keeps this veil away after the month is over. Most noteworthy prayer is to pray for the world wide
success of the faith. This prayer would attract Allah’s love and one’s personal needs would also be fulfilled. During Friday Prayers, a moment comes when all prayers are granted acceptance. Additionally, from Asr ( late afternoon ) to Maghrib ( just after sunset time) on Friday, there is also such moment of acceptance of prayers. Remembrance of God is the point.
