For the small number of people who read my blogs on a somewhat regular basis, or have at least noticed that I have sort of dissappeared off the radar, there are two reasons for this. The first being that I am graduating in about 3 weeks, I am a classs officer, so I am having to help plan graduation and pull it together, we had prom last weekend, and as spring sports and activities are coming to a close I am either participating in these events or I am covering them for school. Ya, its that crazy. However I have not been completely absent! I have been trying to comment still and keep up with people's blogs even if I have not been able to post. I would rather not post than fall behind on the insiteful things our fellow bloggers have to say. Which brings me to my point!
Part of the reason I have not posted is because before I post I like to look through blogs form the past day or so to make sure I am not blogging about something that has already been overdone, which seems to happen on here often. But when I sit down to read these blogs I find myself going through six pages of blogs for each day. Which is not neccessarially a bad thing! An increase in the amount of pages of blogs per day could mean that more people are getting involved, which is a good thing! Unfortunatley it is more a problem of over-blogging, again.
Every once and awhile, for those who have never read my first post on this, there is a case of over blogging on here. Which may sound like a petty problem to have, but when people over-blog IE post like six posts in a row, it makes it hard to find and read other people's posts; users who deserve for their posts to be seen and read just as much as anyone else. I am not saying this out of anger that my posts are not being read. I have not been posting at all! But I will say its hard to when everytime I find time to sit down and post I spend the entire time trying to sort through over blogging and end up not posting at all because of that. In fact, it has gotton to the point where I will maybe read and post on one of an over-bloggers post a day, or I will just skip all of them because their name is on there so many times in a row and I am looking for posts from other people.
I would argue that over blogging does not get more reads, its more of a turn off to getting reads than anything else. I may be the only one who feels that way, but if I am not, please drop a line. Not to mention I am not trying to offend anyone either, over blogging just really irratates me.

Ok, you've illustrated your point and I get it. (I agree anyway.) Perhaps a bit too much, though.
If the consecutive posts are substantive, it's fine. But when the posts amount to crap, it's problematic and annoying.
I think overblogging does get more reads, because then the blog is more visible on the sidebar. Sorry for the kinda obvious counterpoint.
I dont think many people click on blogs off of the side bar. Users that have been on this site for awhile know about overblogging and the fact that there are seven pages of logs a day and click MORE on the side bar so they can see all the blogs for the day, the user who created the blog, and read some of the blog before clicking on it to make sure they want to read it in the first place.
I usually click on the blogs on the sidebar that look interesting.
Sometimes I look at the Blogs on the sidebar, and sometimes I don't. It all depends on whether or not the topic grabs me. Also, there are some bloggers that I've realised to be more coherent and competent than others, and I am more likely to read something of theirs that I see on the side bar.
I'm relatively new to this whole thing. I click on articles from the side bar. But, I also am not familiar with another way to read blogs. I'm more of a reader than a poster anyway though.
Doing what you love, is merely loving what you do.
We have the front page, the buddy list (their new posts will display on the side bar under buddies' recent posts). You can also click on the names of various bloggers and "Track" them to see what they're reading and responding too. Just click a username and when it opens the profile page, click on the Track tab and wait for that to load. We also have the search feature (top menu) and the active topics link (under hot topics) that you can browse through.
