Virtual Reality game with REAL money!!!

Tagged:  •

Now there is a muli-player online game using real money!!

You can deposit your money unlike paying monthly payment, and use that money in the game. And if you earned enough money in the game, you can pull them out to real world! same value as game money. Well, there is a currency difference, so you have to calculate how much you are going to pull out from the game.

Isn't this cool? I never thought any game company's going to do this now. But it happened.

I was reading technology part of article from somewhere and there was this cool online game talking about real money.

So, I'm going to try it out right now.

Oh, by the way, the game's name is Entropia Universe. You can find it by googling it.

Are you sure that this is not some way of getting the money FROM you? It does sound kinda unplausable though.

Well, This is the article I read, and to create an account is free, and to do some special thing, you have to deposit your money

You don't have to Deposit any money when you start to Play Entropia Universe, but putting in like 20 USD after you have decided that you want to continue helps alot.

MindArk, the Devs for this game, has created the first game of this genre that has a Real cash economy.

The game has evolved immensely over the years and I am Proud to say that the 3 years that I have been in EU has always been enjoyable and theres never been a dull moment.

As a newcomer there is so much to do,see and experience that the money aspect is secondary.

With that said...Come to Entropia Universe and have a virtual life!

Do you get money out of that game?

No I haven't. What winnings I get allow me to play more without having to deposit and purchase things I want ingame.

So far I haven't deposited in almost a year and a half. If you invest in Your avatar wisely and don't go overboard trying to get all the uber stuff (which btw cost literrally 10s of thousands USD) you can have lots of fun and make money to have as much fun as you want.

The wise thing to do is not to think of how much money you can make
by playing. It will lead to anger and frustration in the long run, and you will be all the poorer faster.

Play to have fun!..the rest falls into place eventually.

I see in the future a lot of kids stealing their parents credit cards and gambling. Or that's how I see it.

MindArk has instituted a Failsafe contingency for that.

1. The EULA states that you must be 18 years or older to play. Thats not a problem tho because I know lots of players well below that age ingame.

2. To deposit you must make a one time deposit of 10 USD inititally. This sets up your account and is needed to verify your credit card. To authorize that credit/debit card for use ingame to deposit you must use an 8 digit code that will appear only on your bank statement. Not many kids have acsess to their parents bank accounts online I would presume.

Hey, I could get all of that info in 2 minutes :)
I mean, a kid can go in, check their parents mail, and get the info, some kids are sneaky, and it's the 16-older ones that do it

True...sad but true...:P

Ive tried the game out. Its hard to play without money. You start off and the only thing you can do without money is sweat(some weird mystical powers) from animals and creatures. Then barter it for Peds (virtual Money). Its very hard and time consuming to collect it. But its very useful to the more experience players so they pay petty cash for it which you can use to hunt because they have better things to do . With the money you gain you can buy hunting material and you end up in a cycle of spending the money earned from trading to repair the weapons which durability decrease until you cant use it without repairs. The loot (stuff animal leaves behind after death) recieved from hunting never makes up for the repairs of weapons. But the economy is very realistic I applaude MindArk for their cleverness after a week of the never ending cycle there is no way to make money from the game without first investing but if you just want to play you can. I decided to stop playing. Just wanted to test out the experimental virtual economy. Hey , It can happen
