I went and saw the movie The Queen. I am not sure if it is not well advertised or known about, but it did come out today. There were only 8 people in the theater with me, but I wasn't sure if it was because of Thanksgiving or if it was because it was unheard of. I thought the movie was amazing. It covered a topic that few Americans probably ever heard of surrounding Princess Diana's death. It was about the Queen's reaction or rather Monarchy's response to the death of the removed princess and how Tony Blair really played a role in keeping the royals. It made me admire Blair incredibly and it also made me hate Queen Elizabeth for most of the movie until the end when I got a tad bit more perspective on her emotions. I still don't love her, but it is because I come from a time of modernization and she hadn't. I would reccomend the movie to all people willing to learn about the topic and really question which side or how you would react. In my mind Princess Diana was the People's Princess and I admired her charitable work, how she delt with a deceived marrage, among many other things and I really think the movie made an unbiased attempt on the situation of her death. The acting was also brillaint and I would love to see the actress who played the queen and the actor who played Tony Blair win an academy award for their performances.
