Bill O'Reilly. The name alone brings liberals to their knees. He is host of America's highest rated news program on America's "Fair and Balanced" Fascist News Network. He has written 4 books and would like nothing more than for every American to acknowledge him as God or something... O'Reilly also isnt at arrogant or egocentric.
Bill O'Reilly is the perfect example of a flag waving crap spewing conservative who masks his extremist politics behind the label Independant. If Bill O'Reilly is an Independant then surely I am an anarchist. (False) Yes, he disagrees with the fallacy of such labels as conservative, liberal etc but is quick to call ours Flaming Atheist Liberals, which is not at all hypocritical.
I cant believe people still come on his show. And I am shocked people still watch this junk he calls news. His show is all propaganda. When he talks do you listen to what he says or do you read those fancy bullet point graphics stated as facts.
Here is a good intelligent O'Reilly quote: "I just wish Katrina had only hit the United Nations building, nothing else, just had flooded them out, and I wouldn't have rescued them." I think this quote speaks for itself.
If their is one person I hate in America, I can honestly say it is Bill O'Reilly. He preaches noble American values of free speech and free press and fairness. Could someone remind me how biased he is? O yeah, he takes wipes his ass with the 1st Amendment. Now when I pass by his show when I am flipping channels, I watch just to count the number of times he interupts his guests before they can get a sentence out and interjects his own spin in his "No Spin Zone." Shut up O'Reilly. You are ruining America. You are killing American minds everyday.
My best friend watches his show religiously believes everything he hears. He even Tivo's it. I wonder how many American's do the same...
What a scary thought.
All I can say is God help us all.

"The name alone brings liberals to their knees."
I wouldn't say that his name brings us to our knees so much as enrages us. But I totally agree with you. I also hate him, seriously. His voice, his face, those eyes...Bastard. That whole fox network is ridiculous.
Yeah, thats about right. Maybe to their wits end would have been better.
If Rupert Murdoch is Fox's God then Bill O'Reilly must be Jesus.
It astonishes me that any rational human being actually would believe that Fox news is a reliable or reputable source of information. The only conclusion that I can reach...and this has been verified by personal experience...is that most viewers of Fox are either irrational or just plain stupid.

I'd say that goes for anyone who gets all their news and information from just one source, no matter what that source is. Of course there's always the pointless debate about CNN telling people to hate right-wing people and the President, and Fox News worshipping the right.
I would say that anyone who relies on just one source or another will be doomed to ignorance on the other half of any given story they hear about, and therefore, will form igorant opinions, based on other people's opinions, rather than a balanced news story. I have not seen a news outlet that gives the whole story on every subject, or on most subjects for that matter.
If you want to form an opinion on some issue, the responsible thing to do is find out what both sides of the story are, try to see it from opposing viewpoints, and then formulate how YOU feel about it. Not how Anderson Cooper or Greta Van Susteran want you to feel about it.
Here's a hint: Any story having to do with the military, you WILL NOT get the entire story from standard news outlets, so take their reports with a grain of salt. If they say that our military killed innocent people, chances are they are trying to get ratings. Go to actual military news websites and try to get the real story prior to formulating your opinion. Remember the movie "Rules of Engagement?" That's not all fiction.
Ignorance can be cured, but only by yourself.
Very insightful. I completely agree. Great post.

It's hard to find a liberal equivalent of the Rush Limbaughs and O'Reillys to balance it out. We had "Air America" liberal radio station here on the A.M. dial for a while. Regular boradcasts included Al Franken and actress Jeanine Garofalo. However, ratings were terrible, and the station feel apart fast.
Some say that liberal radio just doesn't have the "shock factor" of right-wing broadcasts, which may be more of a seller than conservative personalities' opinions.

I think the "shock factor" you're referring to involves the fact that conservative talk show hosts more often than liberal ones actually make you think about the issue. People eventually get tired of false logic and repeated slogans.

I think he is talking about sensationalism. Conservatives use just as much false logic as liberals. People like O'Reilly tend to say the controversial things because they are so extreme.
Maybe that should be a message to the liberals... Their stuff isn't even good enough for radio. :)
Maybe thats what liberals need, an O'Reilly of our own... then there can be a Deathmatch featuring the two with ringside coverage.

Consider that it may not be the actual person that makes it popular. It's the information.
Yes, we all love to hear racist, classist, sexist blather from hypocritical rich white men on the radio. Nothing like pandering to peoples xenophobia and sense of superiority to get you the ratings!

of Nancy Grace, enough said, on that one show for that one station. The show where men are always wrong seems to be just right for women, automatically encompassing one side of any "story". I write with increasing headaches. Libs and cons are always in some opera peddling ratings.
Nancy Grace and Bill O'Reilly are two of a few small handful of people I can't tolerate no matter how hard I try. Everyone once in a while, they do get it right... but the rest of the time they make me want to tear my hair out. I don't care what their credentials are... some people just shouldn't be given their own television or radio show no matter the reason.

The Daily Show from last Thursday had some hilarious bits of Nancy Grace looking like an absolute idiot. It was good. I sometimes watch O'Reilly just to see what he'll say which I know is a good portion of his viewer base, but its the ones that watch it for their information that scare me.
I've never managed to sit through an entire show from either of those two. I have to walk away before I start screeching at the television. But yeah, I imagine a lot of O'Reillys audience are people that watch just to see what kind of idiocy he comes up with next... but like one, the one's that actually watch for information are the ones that scare me.
