A Homeowner's group in Largo, Florida has come together to sue Judie and Jimmy Stottler because of their 3-year old granddaughter who is living with them. The community bans residents under the age of 18 and the Stottler's admit to signing a contract to that effect. Their granddaughter, Kimberly Boffman, has been living with them against their contract for three years. Jimmy Stottler is disabled and unable to work, so the family is living off Judie's $18,000 salary washing dishes. The Stottler's claim that the child's mother is a drug-addict and can't care for the child. They have been trying to sell the house and are unable to afford to move until they find a buyer. So far there has been no offer to buy the house despite the asking price being lowered by $10,000 from $189,000 six months ago. Last month, the community sued to have the child removed. The stottler's can't afford an attorney.

Whatever happened to communities coming together to help their neighbors? I understand that some people don't want to live in an area with a lot of children and I can see why they would want to create a community that allows them that freedom, but sometimes there are things that are more important. These are obviously extenuating circumstances. The couple have been trying to sell their home and they have had no choice but to keep the toddler there until they find a buyer. The child should not have to suffer growing up in our foster care system when she has family that loves her just because the rest of the community doesn't want her there. It seems to me like the community is wound much to tightly and everyone could benefit from lending a helping hand every now and then. There used to be a time when coming together was the foundation of a community, now it seems like we've come into a time where deadbolts are a necessity, trust is nowhere to be found, and neighbors take every step to forget that there aren't actually people living in the houses around them.

Makes me angry just thinking about it. Why can't people have compassion, or has that gone out the window?

With one foot in the grave... these people need to try and stay away from an eternity in hell!! They are well on their way!! The morality of a person is based on the way they treat children... Give this family a break!!
