Best accomplishment?

Throughout my life I have accomplished many things that not only took a lot of dedication, but a lot of skill as well. For me however, the greatest of these accomplishments has been attaining my Eagle Scout. I chose this for several reasons; one being that it showed my dedication to pursuing a goal, another because it showed my ability as a leader.
In the Marine Corps it will be important to have dedication, whether it is in training, or in the field to complete the mission at hand. The time that I spent over the years that it took me to complete this task of attaining Eagle greatly shows that I have the dedication to complete any mission no matter the difficulty or cost. This kind of determination also plays into the college commitment. Through getting Eagle I have showed that I will never quite, and for a student about to enter college on a possible scholarship that is an important trait because it shows that I wont just give up during college, I will persevere until I graduate. This also shows that I will not just do my required time in the Marines, that I will go past my original commitment to make the Marine Corps my lifelong career.
The leadership that I gained during my quest to Eagle includes National Youth Leadership training which was a week long course in a wilderness campout designed to teach the pinnacle of scouts the traits and skills needed to be an effective leader both in scouts and in life. I also had a lot of experience in not only planning and leading the troop in campouts and ventures, but also serving as Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and several other smaller leadership and organizational jobs within my numerous troops. All of this experience will assist me greatly when I finally get my commission to the Marine Corps because it is a background that will give me a head start when it comes to leading my troops, especially when under fire in a combat zone.
