Al Gore has it right. The time to act is NOW if we want to save our environment from damage we'll never come back from. It's time to put pressure on current and future leaders to address this climate issue.
There is a new group that has been created at www.wecansolveit.org. It's called "Demands for the Candidates." Together, we can get our future leaders to take these concerns seriously and address them in an aggressive and effective way. Below is the description to the Demands site:
Demands for the Candidates, a nationwide We Campaign group, has one purpose... to let both Barack Obama and John McCain know that we demand they follow former Vice President Al Gore's lead and create a meaningfull plan to produce 100 % of this nation's energy cleanly by 2018. One of them, they being the most likely candidates to become the next President of the United States, will have the ability to fast track environmental change in America. Both candidates' plans for change in energy production are currently inadequate when faced with the problems created by the use of fossil fuels for energy. Join us and demand the candidates change their energy policy, or not get elected and I guarantee we will all see some shifts in their policy making. We have the power, remember that!
